Job Title **MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA)** Job Summary We are looking for a skilled **MS SQL Database Administrator** responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, backup, and recovery of **Microsoft SQL Server** databases. The role ensures high availability, data integrity, performance, and reliability of businesscritical database systems. Key Responsibilities Database Administration - Install, configure, and upgrade **Microsoft SQL Server** (2016/2019/2022). - Manage database objects including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, and functions. - Perform **capacity planning**, database growth monitoring, and space management. - Manage SQL Server instances across **Production, QA, and Development** environments. Performance Monitoring & Tuning - Monitor SQL Server performance using native tools and thirdparty monitoring tools. - Perform **query optimization**, index tuning, and execution plan analysis. - Identify and resolve blocking, deadlocks, and memory/CPU bottlenecks. - Conduct regular **health checks** and performance audits. Backup, Recovery & DR - Design and maintain **backup and restore strategies** (Full, Differential, Log). - Perform database restores for DR, corruption recovery, and refresh activities. - Implement and manage **Disaster Recovery** solutions. - Regularly test backups and restore procedures. High Availability & Scalability - Configure and manage **SQL Server Always On Availability Groups** - Manage **Failover Cluster Instances (FCI)** if applicable. - Support replication, log shipping, and mirroring (legacy systems). - Ensure high availability and minimal downtime for missioncritical databases. Security & Compliance - Implement and manage **database security** (roles, permissions, encryption). - Configure **Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)**, auditing, and data masking. - Ensure compliance with organizational security and regulatory standards. - Support vulnerability remediation and database hardening efforts. Automation & Maintenance - Develop and maintain **TSQL and PowerShell scripts** for automation. - Schedule and manage maintenance jobs (index rebuilds, statistics updates). - Coordinate patching and upgrades with infrastructure and application teams. - Maintain SOPs, operational documents, and support runbooks.
