**JOB DESCRIPTION** **I. JOB DETAILS** **Job Title** Consultant HPB & Liver Transplant Surgery **Reporting Supervisor** HOD **II. JOB PURPOSE** To ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the Orthopedic Surgery department, managing inpatients, emergency cases, OT responsibilities, and perioperative care under the guidance of senior faculty, while delivering high standards of patient care and surgical outcomes. **III . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** **Core Responsibilities** **A. Patient Care** 1. Provide expert consultation and management for orthopedic patients across trauma, joint replacement, spine, and sports injury cases. 2. Stay updated with latest research, surgical advancements, and techniques in orthopedic surgery. **B. Process Orientation / Documentation** 1. Conduct and assist in all tests, procedures, and surgeries related to orthopedic cases. 2. Prepare accurate reports including operative notes, postoperative documentation, and discharge summaries. 3. Ensure appropriate attention is given to patients and their attendants throughout the care cycle. 4. Ensure OT, ICU, and wards have required equipment and facilities as per standards. 5. Supervise nursing, paramedical, and support staff to maintain discipline and high standards of care. 6. Coordinate infrastructure and maintenance requirements of the department. 7. Ensure optimal utilization of departmental resources. 8. Maintain orientation to QMS and EMS systems of the hospital. 9. Be fully aware of the hospital s Disaster Management Programme (DMP). 10. Comply with service quality processes, environmental and occupational guidelines. 11. Ensure strict adherence to patient safety policies. **C. Academic & Professional Development** 1. Coordinate with HOD on departmental matters. 2. Contribute to development of new clinical services, programs, and facilities. 3. Be proactive in planning and anticipating patient care needs. 4. Address and resolve patient complaints efficiently. 5. Participate in CME programs, training, and departmental academic activities. **D. Cost & Resource Management** 1. Recommend consumables and equipment required for procurement. **E. Professional Discipline** 1. Maintain professional grooming, punctuality, and adherence to organizational policies. **IV. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS** **Measurable Deliverables** Effective handling of emergency, OT, ICU, and ward cases under supervision. 100% accurate and timely updating of medical records. Clear and professional communication with patients, consultants, and hospital staff. Compliance with ISO standards and turnaround times. Major patient complaints kept below defined thresholds. Timely reporting of environmental and occupational issues to HOD. **V. JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATION** **Minimum Qualifications** - MS (Ortho) **Experience** - 3 yrs of exp (post MS / DNB ortho) in a renowned Hospital. **Technical/Functional Competencies** - OT understanding - Computer Literacy - Fluent with relevant equipment handling **Behavioural Skills** - Good Communication skills - Good Interpersonal skills - Ability to handle multiple tasks - Ability to analyze critical situations - Process orientation - Self-Motivated & Go getter **Language Skills** - English - Hindi **VI.
