Packaging design Manager

Job description

**Job Purpose** To lead and manage the packaging material testing laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely testing of all incoming and in-process packaging materials in compliance with regulatory standards and internal specifications. **Key Responsibilities** - Lab Operations: Oversee daily lab activities including sample testing,equipment calibration, and documentation. - Testing & Analysis: Conduct and supervise tests for Moisture analysis, burst strength, GSM, Cobb value, Tear test, Vacuum Leak test, Jerk test and permeability test. - Compliance: Ensure adherence to ISO, ASTM, TAPPI, and other relevant standards. - Documentation: Maintain accurate records of test results, SOPs, calibration logs, and audit trails. - Team Management: Train and supervise lab technicians; ensure safety and 5S practices are followed. - Vendor Coordination: Evaluate packaging material suppliers based on test results and quality performance. - Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements in packaging design and material selection based on test data. **Qualifications & Skills** - Bachelors degree in science, or related field. - 1-3 years of experience in a packaging or materials testing lab in FMCG industry. - Strong knowledge of packaging standards and testing protocols. - Proficient in lab instruments and data analysis tools. - Excellent communication and leadership skills.
