The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop packaging that enhances product quality, extends shelf life, improves consumer experience, and supports efficient manufacturing and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about packaging innovation, sustainability, and delivering commercially viable solutions in a fast-paced FMCG environment. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead end-to-end packaging development for new product launches and existing product improvements. - Develop innovative packaging solutions that ensure product safety, functionality, shelf appeal, and cost efficiency. - Work with a wide range of packaging materials, including flexible laminates, PET, HDPE, glass, paperboard cartons, corrugated boxes, and other rigid and flexible packaging formats. - Drive sustainable packaging initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce plastic usage, improve recyclability, and adopt environmentally responsible materials. - Conduct packaging trials, line trials, transit testing, and shelf-life validation to ensure successful commercialization. - Own packaging material sourcing, vendor empanelment, negotiation, and contracting. - Track and report packaging costs & monitor price trends of film resins, paper, inks, and corrugation; proactively identify cost-saving opportunities. - Negotiate commercial terms, MOQ optimization, lead times, and credit terms. - Develop alternate suppliers for critical materials to reduce risk and improve competitiveness. - Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Marketing, Supply Chain, and external packaging vendors to deliver packaging solutions aligned with business requirements. - Identify and execute packaging cost optimization and value engineering initiatives while maintaining product quality and consumer experience. - Evaluate packaging performance, investigate packaging-related issues, and implement continuous improvements. - Ensure packaging materials and designs comply with applicable food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. - Develop and maintain packaging specifications, technical documentation, artwork approvals, and change control records. - Stay updated on emerging packaging technologies, consumer trends, and sustainable packaging innovations to drive continuous improvement. **Qualifications & Preferred Skills** - Bachelor's degree in Packaging Technology or a related field. - 3+ years of experience in packaging development within the FMCG, Food Processing, Consumer Goods, or Food Manufacturing industry. - Strong understanding of packaging materials, packaging machinery, validation processes, and packaging testing methodologies. - Exposure to sustainable packaging solutions and packaging cost optimization. - Experience in the food processing or fresh food industry. - Familiarity with packaging regulations, food safety standards, and quality management systems. - Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a dynamic, high-growth environment. - Passion for innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
