**Job Title:** Staff Engineer XR Perception Validation **Company:** Qualcomm India Private Limited **Team:** XR Research Software Engineering **Role Summary:** We are looking for a Staff Engineer to own **validation of XR perception systems**, with a strong focus on **SLAM and multisensor algorithms** for AR/VR/MR technologies. The role involves defining KPIs, building scalable automation, deep failure analysis, and close collaboration with algorithm and system teams. **Key Responsibilities:** - Validate SLAM (visual, visualinertial, multisensor) and perception algorithms across XR use cases - Define and track perception KPIs (accuracy, drift, stability, robustness) - Analyze logs, trajectories, and 3D outputs using statistical and mathematical methods - Design scenariobased validation strategies and automation frameworks - Debug perception failures and provide actionable insights to stakeholders **Required Skills:** - Strong fundamentals in linear algebra, geometry, probability, and optimization - Strong **Python** expertise for automation and data analysis - Solid understanding of SLAM, perception pipelines, and sensor calibration (camera/IMU) - Experience with largescale data/log analysis and metrics generation - Strong communication and crossfunctional collaboration skills **Education:** - Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field **with 4+ years of experience**, **OR** - Masters degree in a relevant field **with 3+ years of experience**, **OR** - PhD in a relevant field **with 2+ years of experience** **Preferred:** - 9+ years of experience in perception, computer vision, robotics, XR, or autonomous systems - M.Tech/MS in CS, Robotics, EE, Applied Mathematics, or related field - Experience with tools such as **GTSAM, Ceres, OpenCV, ROS** - Exposure to groundtruth systems (MoCap, GNSS, fiducials)
