Job description

**Key Result Area 1: Plant Maintenance & Reliability** **Objective:** Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of TPP, DG Sets, and associated electrical systems to supply uninterrupted power to the Cement Plant. ****Supporting Actions:**** - Monitor and supervise all major electrical equipment of TPP, including CHP, Boiler, Turbine, WTP, DG Sets, Alternators, Switchgear, Motors, and Auxiliary Systems. - Carry out condition monitoring activities and maintain records in SAP. - Monitor electrical parameters of TPP Units #1 & #2 and record observations in logbooks. - Prepare daily power generation, power distribution, and auxiliary consumption reports. - Coordinate with Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Electrical maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance. - Ensure safe isolation (LOTO) and shutdown procedures during maintenance activities. - Attend and rectify electrical breakdowns during shift operations. - Support annual shutdown maintenance activities of all TPP electrical equipment. - Monitor and control electrical auxiliary power consumption. - Coordinate with Cement Plant operations for load management and load shedding requirements. - Coordinate with Solar Power Plant (5 MW) and Desalination Plant for optimum power utilization and load balancing. - Manage blackout situations, synchronization of TPP Units, DG synchronization, and black-start DG operations. - Execute approved electrical projects and modifications as per timelines. - Ensure availability and procurement of electrical maintenance materials and spares. - Complete statutory compliance activities related to electrical systems as per schedule. - Adopt WCM practices to achieve defect-free, pollution-free, and safe operations. - Identify, generate, and implement improvement opportunities in electrical systems. **Key Result Area 2: Cost Control & Resource Optimization** **Objective:** Operate and maintain the plant in a cost-effective manner to minimize power generation costs. ****Supporting Actions:**** - Optimize plant operation to improve equipment efficiency and reduce auxiliary power consumption. - Effectively schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and manpower costs. - Ensure optimum utilization of manpower and resources during shifts. - Rearrange shift duties and deploy resources efficiently during absenteeism. - Control maintenance costs through proper planning and material management. - Monitor and recommend measures to reduce electrical energy losses. **Key Result Area 3: Operational Excellence** **Objective:** Coordinate maintenance and operational activities for smooth, safe, and trouble-free plant operation. ****Supporting Actions:**** - Coordinate closely with TPP Operations for stable and efficient plant operation. - Operate electrical switchboards and power distribution systems during emergencies. - Coordinate with Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Operations teams for effective problem-solving. - Ensure optimum loading and load sharing among TG, DG, Solar Plant, and Cement Plant. - Support operational continuity through timely response to electrical abnormalities. - Monitor critical equipment and identify potential operational risks. - Ensure plant availability, reliability, and uninterrupted power supply. - Achieve Zero Fatality and Zero Lost Time Injury (LTI) related to Electrical & Instrumentation activities. **Key Result Area 4: Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) & Sustainability** **Objective:** Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and sustainability standards. ****Supporting Actions:**** - Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable safety standards, procedures, and statutory requirements. - Conduct regular Safety Observation (SO) rounds and report accidents, incidents, and near misses. - Conduct Toolbox Talks and reinforce Safe Work Practices (SWP) before commencement of critical jobs. - Promote awareness of workplace hazards and necessary control measures among employees and contractors. - Participate actively in safety training programs, safety committees, and safety campaigns. - Ensure compliance with LOTO and electrical safety procedures. - Maintain good housekeeping and identify unsafe conditions for immediate corrective action. - Monitor and prevent wastage of power, water, oil, and compressed air. - Encourage and implement environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives. - Drive awareness on responsible utilization of natural resources among team members. **Key Result Area 5: Systems Management & Continuous Improvement** **Objective:** Ensure effective implementation of IMS, WCM, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. ****Supporting Actions:**** - Ensure compliance with IMS, ISO, EMS, and other management system requirements. - Implement improvement projects to reduce repetitive breakdowns, losses, and process inefficiencies. - Submit Kaizens, OPLs, Good-to-Fine observations, and improvement suggestions regularly. - Develop and sustain model areas within the electrical section. - Participate actively in KFA, GRT, and review meetings. - Identify and recommend new technologies, innovations, and productivity improvement initiatives. - Conduct awareness programs for team members on systems and quality requirements. - Ensure closure of audit observations and non-conformities arising from internal and external audits. - Implement SOPs related to critical spares and consumables management. - Identify leakage points, unsafe conditions, and environmental issues and ensure timely rectification. - Monitor emissions and ensure compliance with environmental norms. - Support continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing plant reliability, productivity, quality, and safety. **Reporting Relationships** -
