Job description

**Role & responsibilities** **Key Responsibilities (KRA & Actions)** **A. Cost Optimization & Efficiency Improvement** - Conduct route mapping and identify alternative logistics routes - Maintain freight database (toll, fleet availability, sector-wise data) - Perform PT/KM (Per Ton Per Km) analysis and identify cost variations - Support cluster-level freight inflow/outflow planning - Resolve freight payment disputes with Accounts **B. Distribution & Dispatch Planning** - Improve truck turnaround time at plants - Align dispatches with rake arrival forecasts - Ensure efficient order allocation to transporters **C. Operations Management** - Allocate orders through vendor portal and track acceptance - Coordinate daily fleet requirements and priority movements - Monitor vendor performance and recommend corrective actions - Coordinate grade/bag change with packing plant - Provide shift-wise dispatch guidelines **D. Fleet & Vendor Management** - Track fleet efficiency using GPS and performance systems - Improve vendor utilization and service levels - Ensure visibility of delivery schedules to vendors **E. Inventory & Hub Management** - Monitor pending orders and ensure timely dispatch - Manage inventory replenishment at mother hubs - Align plant dispatch with demand requirements **F. Yard & Dispatch Control** - Manage truck yard operations (registration, prioritization, movement) - Ensure smooth loading and dispatch as per customer priority **G. Coordination & Communication** - Share DI (Delivery Instruction) requirements with S&M and Commercial teams - Collaborate across departments for smooth execution **6. Major Challenges** - Managing diverse customers across wide geographies - Ensuring cost-effective logistics in a competitive market **Preferred candidate profile**
