Job description

Summary Cloud Common Services (CCS) builds the essential cloud infrastructure and platform services that power the Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP). At the heart of this is Atmos, Guidewire's "PaaS within SaaS" layer — built on AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker — that automates the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized core applications, cloud-native services, and associated workloads. As Senior Platform Product Manager, you'll own the strategy and roadmap for foundational platform capabilities that hundreds of internal engineering teams and external insurer customers build on every day. You'll shape how Guidewire delivers infrastructure as a product — with a focus on developer experience, scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency. Job Description What you'll do • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for core platform services within CCS/Atmos — spanning areas such as Kubernetes-based compute, networking, observability, deployment tooling, and shared platform services. • Gain deep understanding of the Guidewire Cloud ecosystem, the multi-tenant/hybrid-tenancy architecture, the market, competition, and the needs of both internal developer teams and external customers. • Treat platform infrastructure as a product: define capabilities that improve developer productivity, self-service, and time-to-value across the organization. • Work collaboratively with Engineering, SRE/Operations, UX, Sales, Marketing, and Enablement to define and maximize the value of platform solutions. • Develop pragmatic solutions to complex distributed-systems and platform problems, collaborating across regions, product areas, and functions. • Partner with cross-functional teams to discover, test, refine, and prioritize solutions. • Build and communicate roadmaps and requirements with clear use cases, ROI, and acceptance criteria for the appropriate stakeholders. • Launch new platform services and features, measure their performance, and iterate quickly. • Be a power user of the platform capabilities you build. • Champion a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI — leveraging emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes. We're looking for someone who • Has strong experience building or managing platform / infrastructure products, ideally cloud-native services offered to internal or external developers ("platform as a product" mindset). • Has a strong understanding of and hands-on experience with AWS services (preferably certified as AWS Cloud Practitioner). • Understands containerization and container orchestration (Docker & Kubernetes) and the operational realities of running services at scale. • Is familiar with core platform concerns — networking, observability/monitoring, CI/CD, multi-tenancy, reliability (SLO/SLA), and cost optimization. • Can define and articulate product roadmaps with solid use cases and associated ROI. • Will detail feature requirements/specifications with clear acceptance criteria. • Can establish a shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution. • Will collaborate with engineering and operations teams through design, development, testing, release, and maintenance to ensure quality and successful delivery. • Can find and lead opportunities for revenue growth, customer adoption, and improved customer satisfaction. • Is comfortable managing and prioritizing product backlogs to get things done. • Demonstrates the ability to embrace AI and data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement. Nice to have • Familiarity with identity and access management concepts — SAML, OIDC/OAuth 2.0, SSO, SCIM, and related AuthN/Z patterns — and how they apply to platform services. • Experience with load balancing and networking in cloud environments. • AWS Cloud Practitioner (or higher) certification. • Familiarity with AHA and JIRA. • Strong mentoring and coaching experience as a Product Manager. • Ability to travel 5–10% as needed. Role-specific competencies • Customer Need: Comfortable communicating with internal (developer teams) and external customers, understanding their underserved needs and documenting use cases. • Product Strategy: Ability to distill customer needs, market signals, analyst voice, and SME input into an actionable, pragmatic platform strategy and requirements. • Collaboration: A multiplier mindset with a demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams. • Results Driven: A data-driven PM who stays ahead of market and customer needs. • Communication: Able to articulate both the technical and business-value impact of platform investments to Guidewire's goals. • Motivation: A deep love and appreciation for the craft of product management. <s
