This role is responsible for managing and growing the merchant acquiring portfolio, including onboarding new merchants, strengthening relationships with existing merchants, and optimizing transaction volumes and revenue. The Portfolio Manager will monitor portfolio performance, analyze transaction trends, and implement strategies to improve profitability, reduce risk, and enhance merchant experience. Daily activities include coordinating with sales, product, operations, and risk teams, resolving merchant issues promptly, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies. The role also involves identifying opportunities for cross-selling bank products, supporting digital payment adoption, and preparing regular reports and insights for senior management. **Qualifications** - Strong knowledge of merchant acquiring, payments, POS/QR solutions, and digital transaction ecosystems. - Experience in portfolio management, including performance analysis, revenue optimization, and risk assessment. - Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using Excel and other analytical tools; ability to interpret trends and recommend actions. - Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills for working with merchants and internal stakeholders. - Understanding of banking operations, compliance guidelines, and regulatory frameworks in the payments and acquiring space. - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage. - Prior experience in banking, financial services, or fintech, preferably in merchant acquiring or payments, is highly beneficial. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and take accountability for portfolio outcomes.
