Edwards Lifesciences is expanding its global technology capabilities with the launch of a new IT Innovation Hub in Pune, India. The Hub strengthens the technology foundation that supports our business worldwide, working in close partnership with teams across regions to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions at scale. Designed as a long-term investment, the Pune Hub will advance newer digital capabilities such as automation, data, AI, and cloud, and will include roles spanning end user services, application development, and enterprise platform teams. How you will make an impact • Lead data engineering development efforts by applying software development and data engineering best practices, mentoring team members, and supporting successful delivery within agreed scope and standards. • Design, develop, enhance, and support data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, Snowflake database objects, Apache Airflow workflows, and Power BI datasets and reports. • Evaluate business and technical requirements, operational feasibility, solution options, data model design, and proposed solutions for enterprise data and analytics platforms. • Partner with cross-functional IT and business teams to deliver secure, reliable, scalable, and supportable data products that enable trusted reporting and analytics. • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including solution designs, data lineage, flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, and support documentation for complex data engineering solutions. • Provide technical guidance to team members and recommend improvements to data platform operations, standards, procedures, and support practices. • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, technical debt reduction, and better alignment across data engineering and analytics delivery. • Stay current with technical innovation in cloud data warehousing, workflow orchestration, analytics engineering, business intelligence, and related development practices. What you will need (Required) • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in IT, with demonstrably solid performance in a role working with cross-functional teams within IT and/or the business on enterprise-level or complex/novel system implementations. • Relevant industry experience, for example medical device, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated environments. • Excellent analytical, detail-oriented, organized, and information-seeking skills. • Experience and training in the specific technologies that will be used for development. • Excellent organization and time management skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills, including negotiating and relationship management skills, with ability to drive achievement of objectives. • Extensive knowledge and understanding of computer science fundamentals. • Extensive troubleshooting and debugging skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work towards long-term goals. • Strict attention to detail. • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels. • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Adhere to all company rules and requirements, including Environmental Health & Safety rules, and take adequate control measures to prevent injuries, protect the environment, and prevent pollution under their span of influence/control. What else we look for (Preferred) • Hands-on experience with Snowflake development, including database objects, SQL, performance tuning, data modeling, and production support. • Experience building or supporting ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration workflows using Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools. • Experience developing, enhancing, or supporting Power BI datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and reports. • Experience working with enterprise data platforms, cloud data warehousing, analytics engineering, and business intelligence delivery. • Ability to collaborate across geographies and functions, clarify requirements, and convert business needs into reliable technical solutions. • Practical understanding of governance, quality, security, validation, and support expectations in a regulated enterprise environment. • Ability to provide technical guidance, coach team members, and contribute to reusable standards, documentation, and delivery practices. Additional information • This position is expected to work independently without close supervision, evaluate possible courses of action, and recommend effective solutions after considering risks and alternatives. • The role may provide guidance to lower-level personnel and is expected to operate with high-level direction focused on end results. • Travel may be required up to 5%.
