This effort is supported by a growing team of specialized engineering Requirements Job Description We are seeking a Principal Engineer II to lead the architecture and development of our SaaS control plane for media products. This is a leadership role where you will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and ensure the platform scales securely and reliably across tenants, users, and resources. You should have • 12+ years building backend services for cloud-based multi-tenant SaaS products • Python or Golang expertise (must-have) • Solid AWS fundamentals: IAM, ECS/EKS, RDS/Aurora, SQS/SNS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch • Multi-tenant systems design and isolation patterns • Modern authentication, authorization, and access patterns (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SCIM) • API Gateway expertise (Apache APISIX preferred; Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway acceptable) • Kubernetes/cloud-native architectures, like Istio/Envoy service mesh • SaaS analytics, metering, and billing (expected significant knowledge) • AWS Cognito for identity and access management • Familiarity with async/event-driven architectures and distributed control planes • Strong documentation habits: ADRs, runbooks, API contracts • Proven ability to instrument services for observability (structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing) • AI Native Development: intimate familiarity with AI-driven development practices, tooling, and ability to guide teams in AI integration Skill Category • Cloud / SaaS Control Plane Engineering • Backend Development (Python/Golang) • Cloud-native Architecture & Kubernetes • Authentication & Authorization • API Gateway & Service Mesh • SaaS Analytics, Metering & Billing • AI-driven Development Leadership Job responsibilities Job Responsibilities • Architect and lead control plane services: tenant provisioning, principal lifecycle (users, service accounts, API keys), entitlement/subscription enforcement • Own onboarding flows end-to-end: account creation, identity setup, resource provisioning, and readiness • Design APIs and async workflows with resilience, failure handling, and graceful retries • Guide engineers in adopting AI for development efficiency, code quality, and operational automation • Drive observability: ensure services are instrumented for logs, metrics, and tracing to make on-call manageable • Collaborate across teams (auth, database, platform) to deliver secure, consistent features • Operational excellence: contribute to runbooks, alerts, and iterative improvements to reduce toil • Mentor engineers in cloud-native patterns, API gateway plugin design, and SaaS What we offer Exciting Projects: We focus on industries like High-Tech, communication, media, healthcare, retail and telecom.
