Responsibilities • Act as the primary technical authority for firmware development within the squad or project team. • Translate Market/system requirements into clear Product Firmware requirements. • Approver of Firmware design specifications, coding guidelines, and development strategies throughout the product lifecycle. • Lead the development of embedded firmware solutions, including RTOS-based applications, communication stacks, device drivers, bootloaders, diagnostics, and cybersecurity features. • Evaluate technical feasibility, estimate firmware development effort, resource requirements, risks and delivery timelines. • Drive key firmware architecture and design decisions in collaboration with System/Firmware/Hardware Architects, Cybersecurity Experts, and Technical Leaders. • Ensure alignment with Schneider Electrics software platform, reuse strategy, cybersecurity framework, and technology roadmap. • Promote adoption of software engineering best practices, including modularity, maintainability, scalability, and reusability. • Plan and prioritize firmware development activities with Product Owner, Project Manager, Architects, and stakeholders. • Organize and lead firmware design reviews, architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical stage gate reviews. • Drive collaboration across global firmware development teams, technology centers, and partner organizations. • Mentor firmware engineers and technical leads through coaching, technical guidance, and competency development. • Foster engineering excellence through software quality initiatives, continuous integration practices, and agile development methodologies. • Drive backlog prioritization and technical debt management to ensure sustainable product development. • Drive firmware-level technical risk assessment and mitigation planning throughout the development lifecycle. • Ensure implementation of Design for System Reliability (DfSR), Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), and software quality best practices. • Lead Firmware DFMEA participation, fault tree analysis, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives. • Lead resolution of critical firmware defects, field issues, and technical escalations. • Ensure compliance with Quality, Cost, Cybersecurity, Reliability, and Delivery objectives. • Maintain technical risk registers and monitor mitigation plans throughout project execution. • Collaborate with SOTL, OQL and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve customer-reported issues. • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and secure coding practices. • Lead vulnerability assessments, cybersecurity reviews, penetration test closure activities, and firmware security remediation plans. • Drive software quality metrics including defect density, code coverage, test coverage, static analysis compliance, and technical debt reduction. • Review and approve firmware verification and validation strategies, test plans, and qualification requirements. • Ensure comprehensive validation of firmware functionality, communication protocols, protection algorithms, diagnostics, performance, unit testing, cybersecurity, reliability, and safety requirements at applicable Product and System level. • Ensure successful product qualification against customer, regulatory, reliability, and cybersecurity requirements. • Coordinate firmware release management, manufacturing firmware deployment, production readiness reviews, and factory acceptance activities. • Support industrialization activities including manufacturing diagnostics, production testing, firmware upgrade mechanisms, and field deployment strategies. • Lead firmware lifecycle management, sustaining engineering, software maintenance releases, and component obsolescence management. Experience Required • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, or related discipline. • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Embedded Firmware Development, with at least 5 years in technical leadership roles. • Proven experience in developing firmware for motor management products, protection devices, control systems, or connected industrial products. • Strong experience leading global, cross-functional engineering teams across firmware, systems, hardware, cybersecurity, and V&V domains. • Hands-on experience delivering embedded products through the complete lifecycle from concept to industrialization. • Demonstrated expertise in firmware architecture, embedded software design, technical decision-making, and risk management. Technical Skills • Minimum 7+ years of Hands-on experience in Embedded C/C++ • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) • Embedded Software Architecture • ARM Cortex-based Microcontrollers and Microprocessors • Device Driver Development • Bootloaders and Firmware Upgrade Mechanisms • Diagnostics and Self-Test Architectures • Software Design Patterns and Modular Architectures • Multi-threaded and Real-Time Embedded Systems • Memory Optimization and Performance Tuning • Motor Control Domain Expertise • Strong understanding of LV Motor Controllers, Motor Management Systems, Soft Starters, Motor Protection Relays • Understanding of motor protection functions including Thermal Overload Protection, Locked Rotor Protection, Stall Protection, Phase Loss Detection, Phase Imbalance Protection, Underload Protection, Ground Fault Protection, Overcurrent and Short Circuit Detection • Understanding of motor thermal models and protection algorithms compliant with industrial standards • Strong understanding of TeSys island architecture, digital load management, smart motor starters, and industrial load control applications • Knowledge of motor feeders, Direct-On-Line (DOL) starters, reversing starters, safety starters, and load management systems • Strong understanding of Industrial applications like SoMove/DTM, PLC applications like ESCE/ESME or similar Eco structure int
