Process Safety Manager

Job description

- Responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing support of company's Process Safety Standards and Process Safety Management (PSM) - Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) program implementation improvements via development and/or sharing best practices between different facilities - Develop PSM requirements, policies, procedures and best practices in conjunction with different functions (Businesses, HSE & engineering functions) - Help develop/train in-house engineering and operations staff so that PSM practices become fully integrated as part of their area of responsibility - Work with corporate leadership to ensure Corrective Action Plans and Tracking are established post HAZOP - Ensure sufficient PSM training processes and toolkits are available and implemented throughout the organisation - Lead HAZOPs & Risk Assessments and ensure that plant leaders and participants are trained in proper HAZOPs are led by qualified personnel. Interpret TSU, Reaction calorimetry results and provide, validate safe process operation window - Review results of HAZOPs for quality and thoroughness - Conduct/Participate in audits and review results of plant PSM self- assessments as part of quality control - Assist plants in their Hazard Assessment (Off-Site Consequence Analysis) modeling in accordance with local requirements - On need basis, participate in select Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) prior to startup of new or modified processes or equipment or after extended shutdown of equipment. Periodically review site PSSRs in conjunction with H&S Managers for quality and completeness. - Participate in Process Safety Event investigations/root cause analyses on need basis. In conjunction with site management teams, track progress of corrective actions where business wide issues are identified - Provide leadership and guidance for local process safety requirements (e.g. PSM/RMP programs) to ensure compliance and consistency across plants - Support plants when interface is required with local regulatory agencies as it related to PSM - Monitor regulatory changes, publicly available information, and significant incidents at plants
