Position Title: Procurement Engineer - Expeditor Location: Pune Reports To: Manager - Procurement Job Overview The Procurement Engineer - Expeditor ensures the timely progress of project activities across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, inspection, and logistics. The primary goal is to monitor project schedules, proactively follow up with suppliers and internal teams, resolve bottlenecks, and guarantee on-time material delivery while maintaining quality and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities • Project Planning & Monitoring: Track project schedules, milestones, and procurement lifecycles. Monitor progress across engineering, fabrication, and dispatch while proactively identifying delays and escalating risks. • Procurement & Vendor Expediting: Document supplier project plans (design development, sub-tier supply chains, workflows, inspections, and logistics). Follow up with vendors for timely submission of drawings, documents, and materials, ensuring purchase order schedules are met. Expedite long-lead items and critical equipment. • Engineering & Documentation Coordination: Expedite the submission of drawings and datasheets to clients/consultants for timely approval. Maintain the Document Tracking Register (DTR) and coordinate technical clarifications between vendors and internal engineering. • Manufacturing & Inspection Coordination: Track shop-floor fabrication and manufacturing progress at vendor sites. Coordinate internal, client, and third-party inspections, ensure document readiness, and follow up to close inspection comments. • Logistics & Dispatch Coordination: Confirm material readiness as per project schedules, coordinate shipment planning with logistics, and track dispatch status through to site delivery. • Reporting & Communication: Maintain progress reports (daily/weekly/monthly), highlight risks with mitigation plans, and conduct regular follow-ups via emails, calls, and meetings. • HSEQ & Compliance: Promote a risk-aware culture, adhere to integrated management systems, spot and minimize workplace hazards, and report quality issues or near misses. Qualifications & Requirements • Education: Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering. • Experience: 5–10 years of experience in project expediting, coordination, or procurement. Experience in EPC, Water Treatment, Oil & Gas, or Fabrication industries. • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of the project delivery lifecycle, vendor coordination, and supply chain workflows. • Key Skills: • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, and reporting tools. • Strong follow-up, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities independently.
