**Job Description:** As a Production Engineer in the SCM function of the Avionics department, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the manufacturing, assembly, and integration of avionics systems. You will serve as the critical interface between design, manufacturing partners, and internal QA/SCM teams to ensure production timelines, quality standards, and configuration requirements are met for aerospace-grade electronic assemblies. **Roles & Responsibilities:** - Collaborate with design and hardware teams to interpret **engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and BOMs** for avionics components and systems. - Coordinate with internal and external **EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services)** partners for PCB fabrication, assembly, and box-builds. - Plan, monitor, and support **production schedules** , line loading, and assembly workflows to meet delivery timelines. - Supervise or support **assembly, soldering, wiring, crimping, and mechanical integration** of avionics subassemblies. - Ensure all production activities follow **aerospace manufacturing standards** (IPC, J-STD, etc.) and quality control procedures. - Drive **root cause analysis** and corrective actions for production defects, non-conformities, or rework. - Assist in developing **work instructions, SOPs, and quality checklists** for production processes. - Coordinate **in-process inspections, first-article inspections** , and **production readiness reviews** . - Maintain traceability of parts, serial numbers, and production records in compliance with **AS9100/ISO standards** . - Work closely with QA, SCM, and testing teams to ensure smooth handoffs from production to validation. - Identify and implement **process improvements** to reduce cycle time, rework, and cost. **Skills Required:** **Technical & Functional Skills:** - Good understanding of **electronics manufacturing** , **PCB assembly processes** , and **avionics integration** . - Hands-on experience with **soldering, crimping, wiring** , and inspection practices per aerospace standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, etc.). - Familiarity with **manufacturing documentation** , **assembly drawings** , and **revision control** . - Knowledge of **electrical testing** , **continuity checks** , and use of basic lab tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.). - Experience in coordinating with vendors/EMS partners and managing production workflows. - Familiarity with **ERP/MRP systems** and **production tracking tools** . **Soft Skills:** - Strong communication and coordination skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-reliability production environment. - Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail. - Ownership and accountability for quality and timelines. **Educational Qualification:** - B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Avionics, or related disciplines.
