Product Application Engineer - Digital Energy & Metering Position Summary The Product Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and application support for Digital Energy solutions, including energy meters, gateways, EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (PME), and EcoStruxure Power Operation (EPO). The role involves product configuration, troubleshooting, customer support, communication setup, and collaboration with sales, commissioning, and R&D teams to ensure successful deployment and operation of power monitoring solutions. Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Application Engineering • Provide technical support for energy metering, gateway, and power monitoring solutions. • Support installation, configuration, upgrades, commissioning, and troubleshooting of PME and EPO platforms • Perform root cause analysis using system diagnostics, trace logs, and event logs to resolve technical issues. • Troubleshoot software, licensing, communication, integration, and performance-related issues. • Metering & Power Monitoring Solutions • Provide application support for energy and power quality meters including PM5000, PM8000, ION9000, EM6400NG, EM64XXH, and EM7200 series. • Configure and commission metering solutions using ION Setup software. • Support gateway configuration and communication setup for monitoring and energy management systems. • Validate communication and data acquisition performance using Modbus diagnostic tools System Integration & Communication • Troubleshoot Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP communication issues involving Schneider Electric and third-party devices. • Support integration between power monitoring software, gateways, meters, and connected systems. • Resolve data logging, historical data, real-time monitoring, and device connectivity issues.
