Job description

Responsibilities: - Conduct endtoend design and development of assigned Powertrain Systems components such as piston, piston rings, bearings, valves, cylinder liners, heat shields and sealings - Own requirements management and DVPR for assigned systems, ensuring traceability from customer SOR/VOI to validation and signoff. - Should have knowledge of concept generation and tradeoff analysis, evaluating performance, cost, manufacturability, packaging, and regulatory constraints. - Lead detailed design and tolerance analysis, including GDT, stackups, and design feasibility for hightemperature and vibration environments. - Lead and review DFMEA and formal design reviews, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and documented. - Manage design changes (ECR/ECM), ensuring controlled implementation, impact assessment, and alignment with project milestones. - Experience with Design for Cost, including RFQ support, cost breakdown discussions, and value engineering with suppliers and internal stakeholders. - Establish and maintain Voice-of-Customer feedback loops, using field data, warranty, and customer feedback to drive design improvements and lessons learned. - Oversee BOM release to PLM/ERP, ensuring data accuracy, configuration control, and alignment with manufacturing and supply chain needs. - Collaborate with cross functional team(CAE/CFD/quality/testing) to review thermal, flow, durability, and NVH analysis results; drive corrective actions and design optimization. - Working knowledge of emission norms and regulations - Lead technical reviews with suppliers, evaluate feasibility and manufacturability, and drive quality, timing, and cost targets. - Support prototype builds, testing, and issue resolution; lead RCA/8D activities for issues such as wear, cracks and leakage problems. - Mentor junior and midlevel engineers, review their work, and support competency development and standardization within the team
