**DEPARTMENT:** Production Operations **JOB TITLE:** Production Assistant **WORK LOCATION**: Vasanthanarasapura Industrial Area, Tumkur, Karnataka, India **NO OF POSITIONS:** **JOB PURPOSE/OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:** The Production Assistant is responsible for supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations by operating process equipment, executing production activities as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining GMP and safety compliance, and ensuring smooth operation of downstream manufacturing processes. **POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** - Assist in executing manufacturing activities according to approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), SOPs, and GMP requirements. - Operate production equipment including centrifuge, micro filtration, evaporator, spray Dryer, drum dryer and packing equipment, support in media preparation and related production operations. - Monitor process parameters, identify equipment malfunctions or process abnormalities and report any deviations or abnormalities immediately to the Production Manager. - Carry out routine sampling and transfer of process materials as per approved procedures, - Perform equipment preparation, CIP (Clean-in-Place), SIP (Sterilization-in-Place) and changeover activities following approved procedures. - Accurately complete production records, equipment logbooks, checklists, and other documentation in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). - Coordinate with cross-functional teams (QA, QC, Maintenance, Automation, and Supply chain Management) to ensure smooth shift operations. - Ensure proper cleaning and housekeeping of production areas to maintain GMP standards. - Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines and 5S. **ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:** - ITI (Instrumentation, Chemical Process or related trade) - Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Instrumentation or equivalent. **EXPERIENCE:** - 1-2 years in Biotech manufacturing Industry with hands-on experience in Production operations, - Freshers with relevant technical qualifications may also apply. - Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, fermentation, food processing, or chemical manufacturing will be an added advantage. **Unit Operations** Centrifugation, Micro Filtration, Batch Reactor, Evaporation, Drying and Packaging, **INDUSTRY PREFERENCE:** Biotechnology and Chemical Process Industries. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:** Strong knowledge of production processes, GMP practices, process control systems like PLC and production documentation. Ability to troubleshoot process deviations, optimize operations, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive safe, efficient, and quality-focused manufacturing performance.
