**Job Title: Purchase Engineer (Direct & Indirect Procurement)** **Department:** Supply Chain Management **Location:** Bengaluru, India **Experience:** 5+ Years **Qualification:** B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline **About the Role** We are looking for a motivated and dynamic **Purchase Engineer** to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you will manage the procurement of Direct and Indirect Materials and Services, coordinate with suppliers, handle RFQ management, process purchase orders, and ensure the timely availability of materials required for manufacturing operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Stores to support business objectives through efficient sourcing and procurement practices. **Key Responsibilities** **Procurement & Sourcing** - Handle procurement activities for Direct Materials, Indirect Materials, Consumables, Packaging Materials, Services, and CAPEX requirements. - Float RFQs, collect quotations, perform commercial comparisons, and prepare recommendation summaries. - Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with suppliers. - Create and release Purchase Orders (POs) in the ERP system based on approved requisitions and material planning requirements. - Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve supply-related issues. **Supplier Management** - Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers. - Support supplier identification, evaluation, and onboarding activities. - Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery parameters. - Coordinate with suppliers for compliance documents such as RoHS, REACH, BIS, and other statutory requirements. **Inventory & Coordination** - Work closely with Planning and Stores teams to ensure optimum inventory levels. - Monitor stock availability and support action plans for low-stock and critical materials. - Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and priorities. **Process & Compliance** - Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and standard operating procedures. - Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. - Support cost-saving, localization, and supplier development initiatives. - Participate in process improvement and digitalization projects within the Supply Chain. **Reporting** - Prepare procurement MIS reports and track key procurement KPIs. - Maintain supplier databases, quotation records, and purchase documentation. **Required Skills & Qualifications** - **Education:** B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. - **Experience:** 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Operations - Basic understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain Management processes. - Knowledge of both Direct and Indirect Material Procurement processes. - Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. - Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.). - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
