QA Engineer- API Testing

**Job Summary** We are looking for a skilled QA Engineer with strong expertise in API Testing and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) Testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating REST/SOAP APIs, designing and executing automated test scenarios using BDD frameworks, ensuring application quality, and collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners in an Agile environment. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, develop, and execute test cases for REST and SOAP APIs. - Validate API functionality, performance, security, and reliability. - Create and maintain BDD test scenarios using Gherkin language (Given-When-Then). - Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Behave. - Perform end-to-end integration testing across multiple systems. - Analyze API requests/responses, JSON/XML payloads, and troubleshoot defects. - Execute regression, functional, integration, and system testing. - Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to define acceptance criteria. - Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. - Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira. - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates. - Prepare test reports and provide quality metrics to stakeholders. **Required Skills** **API Testing** - Strong experience in testing REST and SOAP APIs. - Hands-on experience with either or all: - Postman - Swagger/OpenAPI - SoapUI - Experience validating: - HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH) - Status Codes - Headers - Authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, Basic Auth) - JSON/XML payloads **BDD Testing** - Experience with BDD frameworks: - Cucumber - SpecFlow - Behave - Serenity BDD (preferred) - Ability to write Gherkin scenarios **Database Testing** - Working knowledge of SQL. - Ability to validate backend data across relational databases.
