Job Summary This job focuses on the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts, ensuring alignment with software engineering standards. The role requires executing tests, analyzing results, and reporting defects to enhance product quality. Key responsibilities include collaborating with developers to integrate testing strategies, crafting detailed documentation, and contributing to code reviews. The position requires staying current with test automation advancements and repairing scripts of intermediate complexity with some guidance. Job Description Function: Freewheel Engineering  The Freewheel SDET team is seeking an ETL SDET Engineer 2 to ensure the quality, reliability, and integrity of enterprise data platforms. The role focuses on validating ETL pipelines, data transformations, and data quality while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support scalable data engineering solutions and analytics.  Location: CIEC, Chennai  Key Responsibilities  • Design, develop, and execute ETL test strategies, test cases, and automated validation frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.  • Validate data quality, completeness, accuracy, and transformation rules across data pipelines, warehouses, and lakes.  • Perform data reconciliation, lineage validation, and impact analysis to ensure reliable data movement across systems.  • Test data ingestion frameworks, APIs, and data consumption layers including views, extracts, and downstream integrations.  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Product teams to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and improve data quality.  • Support testing for data migrations, platform upgrades, and evolving data standards while identifying and resolving technical issues.  • Develop SQL and Python-based validation scripts to automate data verification and improve testing efficiency.  • Participate in code reviews, defect triage, and continuous improvement initiatives while contributing to data governance and compliance efforts.  • Monitor ETL workflows and ensure timely validation of batch and scheduled data processing jobs.  • Exercise independent judgment, maintain high-quality standards, and contribute effectively within a collaborative Agile environment.  Minimum Qualifications  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.  • 2-5 years of experience in ETL testing, data validation, or data engineering.  • Strong SQL skills with experience validating complex data transformations and large datasets.  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Automation Test framework  • Good understanding of ETL processes, data warehouses, and data quality principles.  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.  Preferred Qualifications  • Exposure to modern data platforms and tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, or dbt.  • Experience testing APIs and data integration services.
