This role requires hands-on experience with precision measurement equipment to ensure high-precision dimensional verification and compliance with quality standards across all propulsion subsystems. **Location:** Mumbai, India **Reporting To:** QA/QC Manager – Manufacturing **Number of Positions:** 3 (New Hiring) **Hiring Type:** New Hire **Key Responsibilities** **1. Incoming Inspection** a. Inspect incoming components from vendors: dimensional checks, visual inspection, and documentation verification (material certificates, reports). b. Verify parts against drawings and specifications; identify and segregate non-conforming parts. **2. In-Process Inspection** a. Conduct inspections during machining (VMC, CNC turning), welding, and fabrication to ensure critical dimensions and tolerances are maintained. b. Provide real-time feedback to the manufacturing team to prevent defects before they escalate. **3. Final Inspection** a. Perform dimensional verification, fit checks, and alignment checks before components are released for assembly or testing. b. Ensure all inspection requirements and sign-offs are completed prior to release. **4. Precision Measurement Equipment Operation** a. Operate precision measurement equipment to inspect components — measuring profiles, hole diameters, geometrical features, and complex 3D geometries. b. Execute measurement programs for GD&T features (flatness, parallelism, position, etc.); generate and record measurement reports for each inspection activity. **5. Measurement & Inspection Tools** a. Use and maintain hand tools including Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, bore gauges, and surface plates. b. Ensure proper handling, storage, and care of all measurement instruments. **6. Documentation & Traceability** a. Maintain accurate inspection records: inspection reports, measurement data sheets, and non-conformance records. b. Update inspection logs, checklists, and ensure full traceability of all inspected components. **7. Non-Conformance Handling** a. Identify, tag, and segregate rejected or non-conforming parts; raise NCRs promptly. b. Support the QA/QC Manager in basic root cause analysis and conduct re-inspection after corrective actions. **8. Coordination with Manufacturing** a. Work closely with machinists, welders, and manufacturing engineers to communicate inspection results and quality issues clearly. b. Support early defect detection to reduce rework and scrap. **9. Calibration & Equipment Care** a. Ensure all measuring instruments are calibrated and properly maintained; maintain calibration records. b. Report damaged, out-of-calibration, or inaccurate tools to the QA/QC Manager immediately. **10. Safety & Cleanliness** a. Follow all safety practices during inspection activities; maintain a clean and organised inspection area. b. Handle critical propulsion components with care to prevent damage or contamination. **Skills & Requirements** a. Diploma Mechanical Engineering or ITI in related discipline. b. 1–4 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing inspection or a quality control role. c. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and 2D/3D tolerances. d. Hands-on experience with precision measurement equipment such as optical measuring machines, coordinate measurement systems, and advanced metrology instruments. e. Familiarity with hand measurement tools: Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators. f. Basic knowledge of GD&T is preferred. g. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a disciplined approach to documentation. **Ideal Candidate Profile** a.
