THE ROLE As the Engineering Manager for the FlashArray (FA) Foundation Quality Engineering team, you will build and lead a high-performing team of Quality Engineers and Software Test Developers in Bangalore. You will combine people leadership, technical judgment, and execution discipline to drive the quality, test automation, and release readiness of foundational FlashArray capabilities. Working at the intersection of software, hardware, firmware, and cloud infrastructure, you will partner closely with Development, Product Management, Release, and Support teams. Your focus will be translating complex roadmap requirements into modern test strategies, establishing strong shift-left CI/CD signals, and ensuring our products consistently deliver industry-leading reliability to our customers. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Build & Lead a High-Performing Team: Hire, mentor, and coach a newly forming team of quality and automation engineers in Bangalore, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and shared ownership. • Drive Quality Strategy & Shift-Left Automation: Define and execute the FA Foundation quality roadmap—including risk-based coverage, automated CI/CD pipeline integration, fault injection, and release-readiness criteria across software, firmware, and hardware. • Partner Cross-Functionally for Delivery: Collaborate early in the design cycle with Development, Architecture, Product, and Release teams to improve testability, align dependencies, remove roadblocks, and ensure high-confidence product deliveries. • Optimize Frameworks & AI Integration: Modernize test automation frameworks, testbed configurations, and triage workflows—incorporating AI-assisted engineering tools to improve log analysis, test generation, and failure triage speed. • Transform Learnings into Prevention: Utilize quality metrics (coverage, pass rates, triage time) and root-cause analyses from customer escalations to establish durable automated test coverage and prevent recurring issues. Work Location: We value direct collaboration and maintain an in-office environment. You will be based out of our Bangalore office in compliance with company policies, outside of standard approved leave or business travel. WHAT YOU BRING Core Qualifications • Leadership Experience: 15+ years of overall technical software experience, including 3+ years directly managing, hiring, and scaling engineering teams. • Domain & Systems Knowledge: Proven experience delivering complex software, hardware, firmware, or distributed infrastructure products within enterprise storage, networking, or embedded systems domains. • Test Engineering Excellence: Deep expertise in test architecture, systems validation, shift-left CI/CD execution, and designing scalable automation frameworks using Python (or similar programming languages). • Technical Breadth: Solid grounding in Linux environments, storage protocols (NVMe, FC), hardware qualification, fault injection, and long-running reliability testing. • Global Collaboration & Communication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of partnering effectively across distributed global engineering teams. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications • Experience validating enterprise storage platforms, NVMe-oF architectures, or New Product Introduction (NPI) platform refreshes. • Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), observ
