Through its CSR initiative, Parivartan, the bank emphasizes responsible growth and social impact alongside secure, innovative digital banking experiences. **Role Description** The Sales Manager role at HDFC Bank is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The Sales Manager is responsible for driving business growth by managing sales targets, developing and implementing sales strategies, and expanding the customer base for assigned banking products and services. Typical day-to-day activities include leading a sales team, coaching and monitoring performance, conducting market analysis, and identifying new business opportunities in the local market. The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery, and preparing regular sales reports and forecasts. The Sales Manager is also expected to uphold compliance standards, promote digital banking solutions, and ensure a high level of customer experience. **Qualifications** - Strong sales and business development skills, including target achievement, pipeline management, and market prospecting. - Team leadership and people management capabilities, with experience in coaching, mentoring, and performance monitoring. - Customer relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust, handle queries, and drive customer retention and cross-selling. - Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, prepare sales reports, and make data-driven decisions. - Knowledge of banking products and services, especially retail and SME solutions; prior experience in financial services or banking is preferred. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation and presentation abilities. - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage. - Comfort with digital tools and banking technologies, and the ability to promote and support digital channels among customers. - Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets, ideally in a high-volume, customer-facing environment. - Ability to work on-site in Chennai, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and uphold the bank’s standards of integrity and compliance.
