About This Role Capgemini India is hiring SAP ABAP Consultants for its Application Services division in Pune. You will develop, enhance, and support SAP application components for global clients across manufacturing, retail, and utilities. This is a core technical SAP role for professionals with 25 years of ABAP programming experience. Candidates with exposure to SAP S/4HANA development and Fiori/OData are strongly preferred. Role Context You will be part of a SAP Centre of Excellence team working on multi-year application management or implementation projects. Projects run in 24 week sprint cycles and you will own development tasks from functional spec review through to unit testing and transport to production. Capgemini's Pune SAP team works across time zones, with regular overlap hours with European and North American client teams. Key Responsibilities Develop and enhance ABAP programs, BADIs, user exits, and enhancement spots Build OData services for SAP Fiori applications using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model Perform SAP Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and IDOC development and troubleshooting Analyse existing code for performance issues and refactor using ABAP best practices Prepare technical design documents from functional specifications provided by the team Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and support integration testing alongside functional consultants Manage transports across development, quality, and production landscapes Requirements \& Skills 25 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience Strong knowledge of ABAP Objects, dictionary objects, and standard enhancement techniques Experience with SAP S/4HANA development (CDS views, AMDP, RAP) preferred Exposure to OData and SAP Fiori development is a strong advantage Understanding of at least one SAP functional module MM, SD, FI, or PP B.E. / B.Tech or any technical graduation Benefits \& Work Conditions Capgemini Next learning platform with SAP certification support Hybrid model 3 days office, 2 days remote for most project phases Annual performance bonus and SAP certification reimbursement Health insurance for self and family, term life cover, and NPS contribution International travel opportunities for client-site assignments in Europe or North America Who Should Apply SAP ABAP developers who want to work across multiple client environments, gain exposure to S/4HANA modern development techniques, and grow toward a Lead or Architect role within a global firm will find Capgemini's structured SAP practice a strong career platform.
