• Security Operations • Direct and coordinate the day-to-day activities of all Security personnel. • Plan and assign work to Security colleagues and ensure adequate coverage across all shifts. • Organise regular patrolling of: • Hotel boundaries • Guest rooms and corridors • Offices • Storage areas • Public areas • Function and meeting areas • Parking areas • Back-of-house areas • Monitor hotel entrances, exits and access points. • Maintain effective access control and visitor management. • Ensure proper management and control of hotel keys, master keys and access cards. • Ensure security procedures are consistently followed by all colleagues. • Compile and distribute Security reports to relevant departments and management. • Ensure Security logs, registers and records are maintained accurately. • Guest & Colleague Safety • Ensure the highest level of guest and colleague safety while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment. • Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, accidents and emergencies. • Assist guests and colleagues during security-related situations. • Handle sensitive guest situations professionally and discreetly. • Maintain a visible security presence without negatively impacting the guest experience. • Ensure all incidents involving guests, colleagues or hotel property are properly documented and followed up. • Render First Aid to guests and colleagues as required by hotel guidelines and training. • Incident Management & Investigation • Prepare detailed incident reports for all security-related incidents. • Ensure all allegations, complaints and incidents are properly investigated and followed up. • Conduct preliminary investigations relating to theft, loss, damage, misconduct, guest complaints and other security matters. • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive investigations. • Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented. • Escalate serious incidents immediately to the General Manager and relevant authorities, where required. • Fire & Life Safety • Ensure compliance with applicable Fire & Life Safety regulations and IHG standards. • Ensure required fire drills are conducted within the timelines prescribed by applicable local regulations and hotel requirements. • Coordinate with Engineering and other departments on fire safety systems and emergency preparedness. • Ensure emergency exits, escape routes, fire doors and assembly points remain accessible. • Ensure Security colleagues are familiar with fire prevention and emergency procedures. • Support regular inspection of fire and life-safety equipment. • Maintain records of fire drills, emergency exercises and corrective actions. • Ensure colleagues understand their responsibilities during fire and emergency situations. • Emergency & Crisis Management • Be fully conversant with hotel emergency procedures and IHG security protocols. • Ensure all Security personnel understand emergency response procedures. • Develop and conduct regular emergency preparedness drills. • Manage Security response during: • Fire emergencies • Medical emergencies • Natural disasters • Bomb threats • Suspicious packages • Security threats • Theft and criminal incidents • Guest disturbances • Other emergency situations • Coordinate with Police, Fire Services, medical services and other emergency agencies when required. • Support the hotel's Business Continuity and Crisis Management plans. • Terrorism & Threat Awareness • Be fully conversant with applicable IHG and hotel procedures relating to terrorism and security threats. • Ensure all Security personnel and relevant hotel colleagues are aware of security threat procedures. • Monitor and report suspicious activities, persons, packages or behaviour. • Ensure appropriate escalation and response to potential threats. • Maintain confidentiality of security-sensitive information. • Key, Access & Asset Control • Take overall responsibility for hotel key control. • Ensure proper issue, return and tracking of master keys, room keys and access cards. • Monitor access to restricted and sensitive areas. • Ensure hotel assets are protected against theft, misuse or unauthorised removal. • Ensure appropriate gate-pass procedures are followed for hotel property. • Coordinate with Finance, Engineering, Housekeeping and other departments on asset protection. • CCTV & Security Systems • Ensure effective monitoring and operation of CCTV systems. • Conduct periodic review of CCTV coverage and identify gaps or blind spots. • Ensure CCTV footage is handled securely and confidentially. • Monitor access-control systems and other security equipment. • Coordinate with IT/Engineering for maintenance and functionality of security systems. • Ensure security equipment is used safely and responsibly. Financial Responsibilities • Manpower & Payroll Management • Work closely with Human Resources on Security manpower planning and staffing requirements. • Ensure effective deployment of Security personnel across shifts. • Optimise manpower utilisation without compromising safety and security standards. • Monitor attendance, overtime and payroll costs. • Support effective hiring and deployment processes. • Review outsourced Security manpower and ensure contractual manpower requirements are met. • Ensure effective utilisation of outsourcing to manage payroll costs. • Department Budget • Prepare and manage the Security department budget. • Monitor departmental expenses against approved budgets. • Control expenditure on Security equipment, uniforms, training and operational requirements. • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising guest and colleague safety. • Provide regular updates on departmental financial performance. • Parking & Traffic Management • Ensure effective control of hotel parking and traffic movement. • Coordinate with Front Office and other departments for guest and VIP parking requirements. • Ensure appropriate valet parking controls, where applicable. • Minim
