Position Snapshot Job Title Senior Associate — French Underwriting Support Services (L3) Job Area France-Facing P&C Insurance Underwriting Support — Production Unit Region Served France (French Domestic Market) — Commercial & Personal Lines Location India (Bangalore) Shift France-facing shift (CET-aligned); rotational, per business requirement Experience 2–3 years in P&C Insurance operations as a Team Member / SME / QA Education Graduate and above Language French — B2/C1 (mandatory); English — B2 (working proficiency) Reports To Team Leader — French UWSS Role Purpose The Senior Associate is the production backbone of the French UWSS unit. This role processes underwriting support transactions received directly from a French-speaking insurer/broker, working in native French documentation and French-language customer systems, while maintaining the quality, turnaround, and compliance standards expected of an offshore delivery centre. Key Responsibilities Underwriting Support & Production • Policy lifecycle processing: Process new business, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations across the commercial P&C policy lifecycle, working from French-language submission forms and underwriting instructions • French client tools: Operate customer underwriting/policy administration systems that are configured and presented entirely in French, with no English overlay • Transaction quality: Own end-to-end transaction processing to meet first-time-right and SLA quality standards • Document interpretation: Accurately read, interpret, and action French-language proposal forms, endorsement requests, and broker correspondence Team & Stakeholder Support • Daily huddles: Participate in and support the Team Leader during daily huddles; share process/business updates with the wider team • Escalation handling: Manage timely resolution of chasers and escalations raised by the French onshore team or broker • Customer engagement: Participate in customer engagement sessions conducted in French where required • Peer enablement: Provide process inputs/on-the-job guidance to newer joiners to sustain delivery predictability Compliance & Governance • Data protection: Ensure adherence to Data Protection standards (GDPR-aligned, given the France/EU client base) • Policy adherence: Comply with client-specific policies, underwriting authority limits, and regulatory requiremnts applicable to the French market • Customer service: Maintain a zero-complaints mindset in all customer-facing and back-office interactions Language & Communication Requirement ........ French Language Requirement . Non-Negotiable This role requires demonstrable fluency in French (minimum B2, C1 preferred) . reading, writing, and comprehension . as all source documents, underwriting forms, and client production tools operate natively in French. English is required only for internal Mphasis reporting and team communication. DELF/DALF certification or equivalent is preferred evidence of proficiency. Skills & Competencies Domain Skills . Deep understanding of the P&C insurance industry and the underwriting phases of a commercial policy lifecycle . INS Certification or equivalent P&C insurance certification preferred . Aspiration to build a long-term career in P&C insurance operations Language Skills . French . B2/C1 minimum: reading, writing, and verbal comprehension .
