**Role & responsibilities** **Job Title:** Senior Automation Engineer (Playwright) **Experience:** 5-10 Years **Location:** Kolkata **Employment Type:** Full-time **Job Summary** We are seeking an experienced **Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright** to design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UI/API testing, modern automation tools, and CI/CD integration . **Key Responsibilities** - Design and build **robust automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript)** - Develop and execute **end-to-end UI test automation scripts** - Maintain and enhance existing test suites for performance and scalability - Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to ensure quality deliverables - Integrate automated test suites into **CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)** - Perform **API testing** using tools like Playwright, Postman, or REST clients - Debug and identify root causes of defects and flaky tests - Ensure test coverage for critical business flows and regression suites - Mentor junior QA engineers and guide best practices in automation **Required Skills & Qualifications** - 510 years of experience in **Software Testing / QA Automation** - Strong hands-on experience with **Playwright automation framework** - Proficiency in **JavaScript or TypeScript** - Solid understanding of **web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM, network calls)** - Experience in **API testing** (RESTful services) - Knowledge of **test frameworks (Jest, Mocha, or similar)** - Hands-on experience with **Git/version control systems** - Experience integrating automation into **CI/CD pipelines** - Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills **Preferred Skills** - Experience with **BDD frameworks (Cucumber)** - Exposure to **performance or security testing** - Knowledge of **cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)** - Familiarity with **Docker/Kubernetes** - Experience working in **Agile/Scrum environments** **Soft Skills** - Strong communication and collaboration skills - Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities - Detail-oriented with a strong quality mindset
