Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer Position: Senior Test Engineer Experience: 5 to 10 Years Category: Software Development/ Engineering Shift: 10 AM to 6 PM Job location: CGI, DLF, Chennai Position ID: J0726-0229 Employment Type: Full Time Work Mode: Hybrid(3days work from office) Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 5 years of relevant experience. The Senior Automation Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks, developing reusable test scripts, and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enhance coverage and efficiency. **Your future duties and responsibilities** Role Descriptions/ Duties: * Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and backend applications * Create scalable and reusable automation frameworks using industry-standard tools * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define test strategies * Execute automated test suites as part of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) * Identify defects, analyse root causes, and track issues through to resolution * Develop and maintain test data, test environments, and supporting documentation * Perform code reviews on automation scripts and contribute to test automation best practices * Monitor and report on test results, quality metrics, and overall system stability * Support manual testing where required, particularly in exploratory or edge-case scenarios Key Skills and 'must have' experience: * Proven experience in both UI automation using Playwright and API automation * Strong knowledge of development practices using TypeScript * Promoting engineering best practices with strong collaboration principles * Enthusiastic to support Test Driven Development within cross-functional teams * Passionate about testing and shifting left and good working knowledge of CI/CD deliveries * Proven experience in both UI and API automation * Analytical approach to developing with maintainable coding approaches Good to have skills: * Jenkins / Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions * RestAssured / Postman CI/CD Integration, API Automation, Performance Optimization **Required qualifications to be successful in this role** **Together, as owners, let's turn meaningful insights into action.** Life at CGI is rooted in ownership, teamwork, respect and belonging.
