Work location : Hyderabad/Pune/Chennai/Bangalore Work mode : Hybrid **Shift**: 1 PM IST to 10 PM IST **Year of Experience**: 712 years of overall BI/data engineering experience, including 3–5 years of SAS and advanced SQL, and 2–3 years of Google Cloud/Dataform experience. **Key Skills:** Dataform, Advanced SQL, SAS, reporting migration, requirements analysis, stakeholder management **Job Description:** Senior BI Engineer responsible for migrating legacy SAS reporting and data-processing workflows to Google Dataform and SQL-based pipelines. The role involves analyzing SAS logic, understanding business requirements, developing equivalent Dataform solutions, and validating migrated reports with business and IT stakeholders. **Required Skills** - Google Dataform development - Advanced SQL and query optimization - SAS program analysis and workflow understanding - SAS-to-SQL/Dataform conversion - Data transformation and pipeline development - Data quality validation and reconciliation - Reporting migration and legacy BI modernization - Report inventory and migration assessment - Requirements analysis - Business stakeholder management - UAT coordination and business validation - GCP/BigQuery experience - AI-assisted code conversion and prompt engineering preferred **Key Responsibilities** - Analyze SAS programs, reporting logic, data transformations, and scheduling dependencies. - Convert SAS workflows and business rules into Dataform and SQL. - Develop scalable data transformation and preparation pipelines in GCP. - Implement workflow orchestration, data quality checks, and validation rules. - Optimize complex SQL queries and transformation logic. - Validate migrated outputs against existing SAS reports and business expectations. - Identify and resolve gaps between SAS and Dataform functionality. - Support requirements gathering, clarification workshops, UAT, and business sign-off. - Resolve migration defects and document conversion outcomes. - Use Claude or similar AI tools for code conversion, validation, and remediation where appropriate.
