Job Title: Senior Business Analyst - Sql & Payments Position: Senior Business Analyst Experience: 4- 6 Years Category: Software Development/ Engineering Shift: General Shift Main location: India, Karnataka, Bangalore Position ID: J0626-0849 Employment Type: Full Time Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 4 years of relevant experience. #LI-MP14 **Your future duties and responsibilities** We are looking for a detail-oriented Business/Data Analyst with strong SQL expertise to support data-driven decision-making. The role involves gathering and translating business requirements into actionable insights, performing large-scale data analysis, and ensuring data quality across systems. Exposure to banking domains such as AML, KYC, or payments is an added advantage. Roles & Responsibilities Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements and convert them into BRDs, FRDs, and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business processes, workflows, and system requirements Work in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in sprint planning, grooming, and review sessions Perform data analysis on large-scale datasets using SQL Identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions Write and optimize SQL queries for: Data validation Data cleaning and transformation Reporting and analysis Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings for data flows Use advanced SQL concepts such as: Joins (inner, outer, etc.) Window functions CTEs (Common Table Expressions) Aggregations **Required qualifications to be successful in this role** Must-Have Skills & Experience 4–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst Strong expertise in SQL (mandatory) Hands-on experience working with large datasets and data analysis Strong understanding of: Joins Window functions CTEs Aggregations Experience in requirements gathering and documentation (BRD, FRD, User Stories) Familiarity with Agile methodology and Scrum practices Experience in data validation, data cleansing, and data quality analysis Ability to perform root cause analysis on data issues Experience in source-to-target data mapping Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Good-to-Have Skills Domain knowledge in Banking / Financial Services, especially: AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Transaction Monitoring KYC (Know Your Customer) Payments systems Experience working with data warehousing concepts Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) Knowledge of ETL processes and data pipelines Experience working in cross-functional teams CGI is an equal opportunity employer.
