Job requisition ID :: 106151 Date: Jun 24, 2026 Location: Delhi Designation: Senior Consultant Entity: Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL database objects including tables, views, functions, procedures, triggers, and indexes. Write complex SQL queries for reporting, data extraction, reconciliation, and business requirements. Analyze and optimize slow-running queries using EXPLAIN ANALYZE, execution plans, indexing strategies, and query rewrites. Develop and maintain PL/pgSQL functions and stored procedures. Perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Design and implement partitioning, indexing, and archival strategies. Support database migration activities from MSSQL/Oracle to PostgreSQL. Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver database solutions. Review database code and enforce development best practices. Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions. Skill Required 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL database development. Strong expertise in SQL query writing and optimization. Extensive experience with PL/pgSQL functions, procedures, cursors, and exception handling. Strong understanding of indexing, partitioning, execution plans, and performance tuning Education Details BTech/MCA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
