Are you ready to make your impact? **About the Role** Our Economic and Financial Consulting (EFC) team in India supports clients through legal, regulatory and international arbitration matters by providing clear, evidence-based analysis of complex economic and financial issues. We apply the theory and principles of microeconomics and finance provide advice to clients. We approach problems in a highly structured but practical way, and present complex concepts and data in an understandable manner. We have extensive modelling experience, building robust and relevant econometric and financial models for a variety of uses. International Arbitration We provide end-to-end valuation and litigation support, including: determining if a claim is worth pursuing; identifying the correct approaches or methodologies for quantifying damages; evaluating claims in the context of past and future economic damages incurred; and pinpointing the exact type of expertise, evidence and documentation required. Antitrust & Competition Economics Using rigorous, state-of-the-art analytical methods applied to complex data, we evaluate the likely effects of proposed mergers and acquisitions on prices, costs and competition. Our experts regularly assist both defendants and plaintiffs in antitrust litigation, including cases involving price fixing, predatory pricing, bundling and various forms of allegedly exclusionary conduct. An integral part of our role in many of these cases involves the estimation of lost profits or damages from elevated prices and output restrictions. Accountancy and financial reporting We advise on accountancy and financial reporting issues and provide opinions on liability and remedy issues in cases involving fraud and false accounting, breach of contract or warranty disputes. We assess the relevance and reliability of information obtained from financial records and reports. **What You’ll Do** We are looking for a talented, ambitious individual to join our Economic and Financial Consulting (EFC) team in New Delhi or Mumbai which primarily focus on providing services for international arbitration an d competition economics. Suitable candidates will be problem-solvers who enjoy developing and applying bespoke approaches to solve complex, unstructured problems in a logical manner. Candidates will have strong understanding of financial valuation, economic theory and accounting fundamentals. Candidates will have strong analytical skills; be able to explain their work and communicate their conclusions and findings clearly, both orally and in writing; and be able to draw upon considerable experience of applying principles to solve problems in practice. You’ll also have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership to support business expansion initiatives. **What You Will Need to Succeed** Basic Qualifications - At least 5-7 years’ work related experience with a focus on disputes advisory, general financial valuation but also covering fields such as economics, accounting, statistics, and econometrics. - A Masters Degree from a university with a reputation for excellence in the subject in question and/or completed the CA, CFA or other relevant professional qualification; and - Ability to research, analyse and summarise market data; manage data sets, analyse economic and financial data, draft memos, expert reports and presentation material. Preferred Qualifications - a solid understanding of the concepts in one or more of the following disciplines: valuation, accountancy, economics and finance; - strong skills in applying those concepts in one or more specific areas; - the capacity to critically evaluate and compare different sources of information and assumptions to assess reliability; - good project management skills and experience in managing people and individual work streams; - to be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
