The incumbent is accountable for establishing and maintaining the credit risk management framework, including risk appetite, risk tolerances, policies, and control standards, while exercising delegated authorities and providing the expertise necessary to effectively manage these risks. The role is also responsible for ensuring robust assurance, governance, and reporting mechanisms are in place; overseeing the design and effectiveness of risk controls; monitoring compliance with Board-approved risk tolerances; and escalating material control deficiencies or breaches to the appropriate management and risk governance forums. In addition, the role plays a critical leadership function in fostering a strong culture of good conduct across the organisation and holds final credit approval authority for Wholesale Lending facilities. While responsible for credit decision-making, accountability for the completeness, accuracy, and quality of business credit applications, including the capture of information required for credit risk assessment and measurement, remains with the relevant Business CEOs. Role Responsibilities Lead Credit Risk Strategy \& Portfolio Stewardship by shaping risk frameworks, credit portfolio standards, and risk appetite aligned to business growth objectives while providing strategic insight through cost, impairment, and macroeconomic risk forecasting. Serve as the Senior Credit Risk Authority with responsibility for exercising delegated credit approval authority, safeguarding the integrity of risk-return decisions, and providing independent challenge to business proposals and risk-taking activities. Oversee Wholesale Banking Credit Risk across Local Corporates, Global Subsidiaries, and Corporate \& Investment Banking portfolios, ensuring robust risk governance, portfolio quality, and sustainable business growth. Drive Credit Excellence and Risk Discipline by ensuring business credit applications meet the highest standards of risk analysis, underwriting quality, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining strong portfolio performance. Lead Credit Portfolio Governance through regular risk committee engagement, portfolio reviews, stress testing, early alert management, and proactive identification, escalation, and remediation of emerging credit risks. Own Regulatory and Policy Compliance by monitoring adherence to Group Credit Policies, Portfolio Standards, prudential requirements, and local regulatory expectations, while ensuring timely and accurate risk reporting to senior governance forums. Champion Operational Risk Management by overseeing risk and control frameworks, strengthening risk monitoring capabilities, driving continuous process improvement, and embedding effective operational risk practices across the function. Build and Develop High-Performing Credit Risk Teams through talent identification, succession planning, capability development, leadership coaching, and fostering an inclusive and high-performance risk culture across multiple markets. Promote the Highest Standards of Conduct and Governance by embedding ethical decision-making, regulatory excellence, and a strong risk culture, while collaborating with business and control functions to proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance issues. Strong experience in Corporate and Institutional banking, including significant exposure to wholesale credit risk assessment, underwriting, and approval of complex client relationships. Deep expertise in Credit Risk and Operational Risk Management, with a proven ability to balance risk, return, and growth objectives in a dynamic banking environment. Strong front-office and business partnering experience, with the commercial acumen to evaluate risk-adjusted returns and provide effective challenge to business decisions. Demonstrated leadership track record in managing high-performing teams across diverse geographies, driving talent development, succession planning, and a strong risk culture. Proven experience in risk governance, controls, and portfolio management, including oversight of complex products, geographically dispersed portfolios, regulatory compliance, and risk frameworks.
