Role Overview We are looking for a **Senior Mechanical Design Engineer** with 4-7 years of experience in mechanical design and development to support engineering activities for **compressor and turbomachinery products and components**. The role involves developing mechanical designs, creating 3D models and drawings, supporting engineering calculations and analysis, and working with global engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and manufacturable designs. The candidate should have good mechanical engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience with **Siemens NX**, and an interest in developing deeper expertise in compressor/turbomachinery/Gas turbine product design. Knowledge / Skills, Education & Experience - B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with **3–6 years of relevant mechanical design experience**. - Hands-on experience in mechanical design/development of industrial, rotating equipment, turbomachinery or similar products. - Working experience with **Siemens NX** for 3D modelling, assemblies and engineering drawings. - Basic working knowledge of **Teamcenter** or similar PLM tools. - Good understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering materials and manufacturing processes. - Knowledge of **GD&T, fits, tolerances and engineering drawing standards**. - Familiarity with welding symbols and manufacturing processes. - Ability to understand engineering specifications, customer requirements and applicable standards. - Good problem-solving and analytical skills. - Ability to work effectively with global and cross-functional teams. - Understanding of compressor/turbomachinery components would be an advantage. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Design & Development - Support the design and development of **compressor components and assemblies** under the guidance of experienced engineers. - Develop 3D models and assemblies using **Siemens NX** based on engineering requirements. - Create and update detailed manufacturing drawings with appropriate **GD&T, dimensions, tolerances and specifications**. - Support design modifications and engineering changes based on customer, manufacturing or product requirements. - Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to develop practical and manufacturable design solutions. - Support material and manufacturing-process selection for assigned components. Engineering Analysis & Design Support - Perform basic engineering calculations and design evaluations as required. - Support analysis/CAE teams by providing design inputs, loading conditions and relevant engineering information. - Review analysis results with senior engineers and incorporate recommended design improvements. - Participate in design reviews and implement agreed actions. - Support design validation and verification activities. Manufacturing & Product Support - Work with manufacturing and quality teams to address drawing, manufacturing and assembly-related issues. - Support **Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)** activities. - Resolve routine design and drawing issues with appropriate technical guidance. - Support identification of opportunities for standardization, part reuse and design improvement. Engineering Problem Solving - Investigate design and manufacturing issues related to assigned components. - Support **Root Cause Analysis (RCA)** and implementation of corrective actions. - Identify potential design risks and escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers. - Incorporate lessons learned into future designs. Project & Team Collaboration - Take ownership of assigned design tasks and deliverables within agreed timelines. - Coordinate with global engineering, manufacturing, quality and other cross-functional teams. - Participate in technical discussions and design reviews. - Maintain engineering documentation and product data in **Teamcenter**. - Follow established engineering processes, quality requirements and customer standards.
