Through our people, leadership development, services, technology and scale, Wabtec delivers better outcomes for global customers by speaking the language of industry.   Role Summary/Purpose Senior Engineering Program Manager – Reliability Solutions is responsible for leading fleet reliability improvement programs across Wabtec locomotive platforms. This role owns end-to-end problem resolution from root cause identification through solution deployment and effectiveness validation. The position combines technical leadership, reliability engineering, metallurgy expertise, and program management to improve fleet availability, reduce lifecycle costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.   Key Responsibilities: • Assess and perform root-cause investigations for field reliability issues. Be responsible for and perform hands-on locomotive-level field investigations of various issues to establish root-cause of reported issues. • Develop containment/immediate-term solution for reported field issues. Implement short-term as well as long-term solutions for field failures. Deliver on field reliability goals & risks • Lead metallurgical and materials-related investigations including fatigue failures, wear mechanisms, corrosion, fracture analysis, welding defects, casting/forging anomalies, and material degradation to establish root cause and corrective actions. • Drive and track international material movement, project ROI, launch readiness, scope management, reporting, and service readiness activities. • Create implementation plans and validate execution with GLO/GSO: supply chain capacity, material usage rates, eServices, customer acceptance • Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, and systems engineering. • Execute reliability solutions development through Wabtec services tollgate process and deliver the same to customer. • Communicate progress to all levels of the organization, systematically track all reported field reliability issues through various stages through solution development, deployment, and effectiveness validation.   Qualifications/Requirements • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university or college with 15 to 20 years of engineering experience in either Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related engineering discipline. • Hands-on experience in solving reliability issues, root-cause analysis, reliability modeling methods & analysis techniques. • Training / Certification in reliability and Six Sigma – DMAIC, DFSS, DFR • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a systems, sub-system, program, or project leadership role within engineering CoEs. • Willingness and ability to travel ~ 10% of the time. • Proven expertise in engineering requirement flow down, design and development, engineering tollgate process, NPI and requisition development, familiarity with Wabtec reliability services tollgate process • Strong understanding of materials engineering and metallurgy principles, including fatigue, fracture mechanics, wear, corrosion, heat treatment processes, welding, casting, forging, and material selection for heavy-duty industrial applications   Desired Characteristics: • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline with relevant locomotive, rail, heavy equipment, mining, aerospace, or industrial equipment experience is preferred. • Demonstrated expertise in metallurgical failure analysis, material characterization, and reliability improvement of mechanical systems is highly desirable. • Proven ability to drive/embrace change & drive innovation. • Proven problem solving, analytical skills & new idea generation. • Good interpersonal, communication and organizational integration skills • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
