**Role Summary** The Quality Executive is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products meet the stringent quality standards defined by QA and R&D. This role involves carrying out inspections and testing, handling customer complaints, conducting quality audits, and ensuring compliance with statutory norms. The incumbent will act as a key interface between Quality and Production, ensuring strict adherence to specifications and driving continuous quality improvement in the chemical construction/building material manufacturing environment. **Key Responsibilities** **1. Quality Inspections & Testing** - **Carry out inspections and testing** on: - **Raw Materials** – Verify quality and specifications before batch charging. - **Packing Materials** – Ensure compliance with defined standards. - **In-Process Samples** – Monitor quality parameters during manufacturing stages. - **Finished Products** – Conduct final quality checks before dispatch/release. - Ensure that all materials, products, and equipment are up to the **relevant requirements and standards** as per QA and R&D guidelines. - Strictly adhere to the specifications defined by QA and R&D during all testing and inspection activities. - Use appropriate testing instruments and equipment to conduct quality checks accurately. **2. Documentation & Reporting** - **Prepare and maintain comprehensive QA reports** and share them with relevant stakeholders. - Interact with the **Production department** to communicate quality parameters, non-conformities, and corrective actions. - Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality metrics for audit purposes. - Prepare reports on quality performance, trends, and improvement areas. - **Circulate Daily Quality Reports** to relevant stakeholders. **3. Customer Complaints Handling** - **Receive, document, and investigate customer complaints** related to product quality. - Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for complaints and coordinate with production and QA teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). - Provide timely responses to customers regarding complaint resolution. - Maintain complaint registers and track trends to identify systemic issues. - Ensure closure of complaints within defined timelines. **4. Quality Audits & Compliance** - **Conduct quality audits** (internal and process audits) to ensure adherence to established quality systems and procedures. - Identify gaps in quality processes and recommend improvements. - Ensure **compliance to LM (Legal Metrology)** and maintain statutory norms including: - **W&M (Weights & Measures)** – Ensure accurate weighing and measurement practices. - **PCRA (Petroleum Conservation Research Association)** – Adhere to energy conservation and compliance norms. - Ensure all quality processes are aligned with **ISO 9001:2015** and other applicable quality management systems. - Participate in external audits and regulatory inspections. **5. Quality Systems & Process Improvement** - Ensure effective implementation of the quality system in the QC department. - Identify process non-conformities and work with production to resolve them. - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including **5S, Lean, and TPM** . - Monitor and track **quality objectives** and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the quality management system. - **Help the Assistant Manager to identify process non-conformities** and suggest corrective actions. - **Carry out lab-scale experiments** under the guidance of the AM/Quality Manager. **6. Inter-departmental Coordination** - Liaise with **Production, R&D, and Dispatch** teams to ensure seamless quality flow from raw material receipt to finished goods dispatch. - Ensure no conflict/issue with interfacing departments when quality-related changes are planned/implemented. - Train and guide production operators and workers on quality standards and inspection procedures. **7. Risk Management & Quality Objectives** - Identify risks and/or opportunities during quality control activities related to department inputs, value-addition activities, and outputs. - Review risks/opportunities with HOD and identify changes in the quality system/action plan. - Ensure that all department staff are aware of: - The **Quality Policy** - Relevant **Quality Objectives** - Their contribution to the effectiveness of the quality management system - Implications of not performing with the quality management system requirements. **8. SAP & System Transactions** - Conversant with **SAP** for transactional activities related to quality inspections, material rejections, and inventory movements (if applicable). - Maintain digital records of quality data in ERP/SAP systems. **9. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance** - Ensure compliance with statutory norms including: - **Legal Metrology (W&M)** – Accurate weights and measures. - **PCRA** – Energy conservation norms. - **Factory Act** – Safety and environmental compliance. - **Pollution Control** – Environmental norms. - Maintain proper documentation for statutory audits and inspections. **10. Shift Operations** - **Carry out inspections and testing in shifts** on materials, products, and equipment. - Ensure quality coverage across all shifts. - Coordinate with shift production teams to resolve quality issues on the spot. - Maintain shift-wise quality records and reports. **Qualifications & Experience** **Essential** - **Education:** B.Sc. – Quality / B.Sc. (Chemistry) / M.Sc. (Chemistry) or equivalent. - **Experience:** 3 to 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control in: - **Chemical Construction** (e.g., Construction Chemicals, Adhesives, Sealants, Coatings). - **Building Material** (e.g., Quartz, Tiles, Cement, Paints). - **Chemicals** (Chemical manufacturing, Polymers, or similar). - **Key Experience:** QA/QC
