Your impact begins on day one, and your contributions will help define our future in the region. **Role Description** The Manager, Data Engineering (Data Tools), is responsible for hands-on technical leadership and delivery of innovative, scalable data automation tools and full-stack applications within Schwab Data India. The Data Tools team builds and manages modern data solutions such as data lineage platforms, automated data quality testing frameworks, and AI-assisted development tools that streamline workflows for hundreds of ETL developers. This role plays a critical part in driving engineering efficiencies, improving data reliability, and accelerating delivery through intelligent automation and AI-enabled capabilities. The Schwab Data Tools team is at the forefront of innovation, building and managing modern data solutions such as data lineage platforms, automated data quality testing frameworks, and AI-assisted data engineering tools. These solutions empower hundreds of ETL developers by streamlining workflows, improving data reliability, and accelerating time-to-market. Joining this team means being part of a culture that values: - Innovation and forward-thinking solutions - Driving efficiencies and operational excellence - Strong engineering craftsmanship and modern full-stack development - Collaboration and continuous learning - High job satisfaction through meaningful, high-impact work ## **What you have** **Key Responsibilities** **Technical Execution & Delivery** - Lead hands-on design, development, and delivery of scalable full-stack applications using Python and Angular, focusing on performance, reliability, and engineering efficiency. - Leverage AI-assisted and Generative AI tools to accelerate development, automate repetitive tasks, and improve overall developer productivity. - Develop and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and solution diagrams. - Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and adherence to engineering best practices. - Own delivery of sprint commitments, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with team objectives. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack. - Utilize AI and Generative AI technologies to enhance development productivity, automate routine workflows, and improve overall team efficiency. **Collaboration & Communication** - Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into implementable technical tasks. - Participate in presentations and demos to leadership and technical peers. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, QA, and DevOps. - Coordinate with U.S.-based Data Tools team for alignment, knowledge sharing, and delivery consistency. - Support project planning and provide accurate effort estimations for assigned work. **Team Leadership & Mentoring** - Lead and mentor a small team of developers, providing technical guidance and career development support. - Conduct code reviews and drive adoption of coding standards and best practices. - Support hiring efforts by participating in interviews and technical assessments. - Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment aligned with Schwab’s OneSchwab/OneGCC culture. **Operational Excellence** - Follow established delivery frameworks and contribute to process improvement initiatives. - Ensure adherence to Schwab’s privacy, security, and regulatory standards in all deliverables. - Participate in retrospectives and drive actionable improvements within the team. - Support CI/CD pipeline maintenance and deployment processes. **Required Qualifications** **Technical Expertise and Educational Requirements** - Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in software development with a focus on building tools and applications. - Strong expertise in Python and Angular/React (latest versions). - Experience designing and implementing techni
