The person in this role will oversee sample processing, conduct routine and specialized diagnostic tests, and ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and quality control protocols. Responsibilities include calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment, monitoring test accuracy, and validating results before reporting. The Senior Laboratory Technician will help train and guide junior technicians, support phlebotomy and logistics teams with technical queries, and collaborate with quality assurance staff to maintain regulatory and safety compliance. The role also involves accurate documentation, inventory management of reagents and consumables, and continuous improvement of laboratory workflows to support high-volume, time-sensitive testing. **Qualifications** - Strong technical expertise in clinical laboratory procedures, sample handling, and diagnostic testing across key pathology disciplines. - Hands-on experience operating, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments and automation systems. - Solid understanding of quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance standards relevant to medical laboratories. - Proficiency in laboratory information systems, digital reporting tools, and basic data entry and analysis. - Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to follow and improve standard operating procedures. - Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring or supervising junior laboratory staff. - Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related discipline from a recognized institution. - Relevant work experience in a diagnostic laboratory, preferably in a high-throughput or chain-lab environment. - Commitment to patient safety, ethical practices, and continuous learning in evolving diagnostic technologies.
