For more information, visit . **Job Title: - Senior Transition Manager (Data Engineering)** **Requisition ID:** **Job Location: - Bengaluru, India (Offshore)** **Job Summary: -** This role will lead the knowledge transfer and operational handover of an enterprise data platform to a Major Pharma clients in-house data engineering team. The Senior Transition Manager is a delivery-critical, client-facing role requiring a blend of strong technical understanding, structured transition methodology, stakeholder management, and team leadership. The resource will be the single point of accountability for transition success and will drive the engagement from planning through to formal handover closure. **Job Responsibilities: -** **Transition Planning Execution** - Design, own, and execute a comprehensive Transition Plan covering all enterprise data platform workstreams data ingestion, orchestration, transformation, data quality, and distribution - Define transition milestones, exit criteria, and knowledge transfer checkpoints in alignment with the clients timelines and business objectives - Maintain a live transition tracker and publish regular status updates to internal leadership and client stakeholders - Identify, document, and mitigate transition risks proactively; escalate blockers with recommended resolution paths - Drive parallel-run and hypercare phases to ensure a stable, zero-disruption handover **Technical Leadership Oversight** - Maintain strong working knowledge of the enterprise data platform architecture Databricks pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, workflow orchestration tools (Tidal / Airflow), data integration tools (Informatica BDM / IICS), and AWS S3 - Review and validate all technical documentation created during the transition SOPs, TDDs, STTMs, runbooks, and data dictionaries - Ensure knowledge transfer sessions are technically complete and the clients engineering team can independently operate the platform post-transition - Guide and review the technical outputs of Sr. Associate Data Engineers on the team - Support resolution of production incidents and data quality issues during the hypercare period **Stakeholder Client Management** - Serve as the primary Axtria point of contact for the Major Pharma clients technology stakeholders during the transition period - Lead and facilitate structured transition calls weekly governance reviews, sprint-based delivery syncs, and executive-level progress presentations - Manage scope, timeline, and resource expectations with both internal Axtria leadership and the client - Build and maintain strong working relationships with client technology leads and product owners - Prepare and deliver transition progress reports and closure documentation for senior stakeholders **Operations ITIL Process Governance** - Apply ITIL-aligned processes for incident management, change management, and service request handling throughout the transition - Ensure all operational procedures are documented, reviewed, and formally signed off before handover - Define, track, and report on SLAs during the transition and parallel-run phases - Own the formal transition closure process including sign-off documentation, lessons learned, and definition of the post-go-live support model - Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives during the engagement **Team Management** - Manage and guide the Sr. Associate Data Engineers deployed on this engagement - Assign workstreams, review outputs, and ensure the team delivers against transition milestones - Coordinate knowledge transfer schedules, ramp-up plans, and cross-team handoffs - Support team upskilling, motivation, and performance management throughout the engagement **Job Requirements: -** - Overall 1014 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or analytics delivery - Proven experience leading technology transitions or platform handovers in a client-facing or consulting environment - Hands-on or strong working knowledge of Databricks, ETL/ELT pipelines, and workflow orchestration tools (Tidal, Apache Airflow, or equivalent) - Familiarity with data integration platforms such as Informatica BDM / IICS or equivalent - Strong understanding of ITIL processes incident management, change management, and problem management - Experience creating and managing formal Transition Plans, runbooks, and knowledge transfer documentation - Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and presentation skills - Experience managing and mentoring junior/mid-level technical teams - Strong SQL skills and familiarity with Python or PySpark - Experience with cloud platforms and data stores AWS preferred - Prior experience in the pharma / life sciences commercial data domain is preferred **Qualification: -
