In this role, you will directly lead a team of software developers responsible for building, scaling, and securing high-performance HPE EdgeConnect appliances for the SASE (SD-WAN & Security) segment. This role requires a balance of deep technical management (C programming, Linux systems, hardware/virtual form factors) and people leadership to deliver enterprise-grade networking and security applications. **What you’ll do:** **Key Responsibilities** - Own up end to end software development life cycle for the appliance software, ensuring timely, high-quality releases across both physical hardware and virtual platforms - Handle the headcount efficiently by organizing and optimizing team structures, capacity planning and allocation of resources for projects consistent with product roadmap and priorities - Drive hiring to attract talented systems, networking and security developers - Nurture a strong engineering culture focused on rigorous code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration and building secure software - Partner closely with product management, peer engineering teams, SQA, DevOps and Escalations teams to drive product development with high-quality and ensure customer success - Drive system level and code level optimizations to maximize appliance data plane throughput, ensuring efficient resource utilization during line-rate packet processing with security inspection - Drive adoption of AI technologies across customer-facing SASE features, the software development process, automated testing and root cause analysis for complex software defects **What you need to bring:** **Required Skills & Experience** - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience. - Typically, 15-20 years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years of direct people management experience leading engineering teams - Deep technical background in C programming and Linux systems programming with a proven track record in low-latency data path and/or networking/security applications - Strong software development experience in one or more domains, including SD-WAN, Routing, WAN Optimization, Firewall, NGFW, IDS/IPS, ZTNA, Web Filtering, Proxy applications (SSL, TCP, DNS), Application Classification, Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), Policy based routing and High Availability - Proven track record of managing complex software projects in a high-velocity environment - Familiarity with leveraging AI technologies to drive both customer-facing features in networking products/services and engineering productivity - Excellent written and verbal communication skills **What We Can Offer You:** **Health & Wellbeing** We strive to provide our team members and their loved ones with a comprehensive suite of benefits that supports their physical, financial and emotional wellbeing. **P
