This position requires a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide direct patient care in the operating room, including preparing instruments and equipment for surgery. - Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infections. - Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth surgical procedures. - Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition during surgery. - Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes. - Participate in the orientation and training of junior nursing staff and students. - Stay updated on the latest advancements in surgical nursing and operating room procedures. - Assist in the management of the OT inventory, ensuring that supplies and equipment are stocked and maintained. - Follow hospital policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and compassion. **Skills and Tools Required:** - Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license. - Proven experience in an operating theatre environment, with expertise in surgical procedures. - Strong assessment skills to monitor patient conditions effectively. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. - Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. - Knowledge of infection control practices and protocols. - Proficient in the use of medical equipment commonly used in surgical settings. - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred. - Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and patient management software.
