**Role & responsibilities** The role is responsible for end-to-end development and management of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging for domestic pharmaceutical products. The position ensures packaging feasibility, artwork accuracy, regulatory compliance, timely availability of materials, and support for new product launches, site transfers, and ongoing production requirements through effective cross-functional coordination. **Preferred candidate profile** Key Responsibilities A. Packaging Development - Development of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials. - Conduct packaging feasibility, stability sample coordination, transportation trials & machine trials. - Support plant trials, vendor visits, and online proofing. B. Artwork & Design Management - Develop and finalize secondary & tertiary packaging artworks as per marketing, regulatory, and primary pack requirements. - Manage artwork approval workflows with R&D Formulation, DRA, CQA, Marketing, Production, etc. - Release approved artworks to Purchase & Planning. - Daily approvals of proofs and shade cards. C. Project & Product Support - Handle packaging development activities for new products, site transfers, TPIH conversions, and routine changes. - Coordinate with Marketing, BD, FDD, DRA for pack designs, approvals and regulatory text. - Ensure timely readiness of packaging for new launches. D. SAP & Documentation - Initiate FG codes, create item codes, and update/ upload Packaging BOM in SAP. - Develop PM specifications and coordinate approvals. - Manage change controls for artwork or material changes. E. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination - Daily coordination with vendors for development, proofs, and material-related clarifications. - Support Purchase in vendor procurement processes. - Work with Planning to meet production and launch timelines. - Evaluate tertiary packaging such as shipper boxes, shrink films, etc. 3. Key Deliverables - Timely development and release of packaging materials. - Zero artwork errors and 100% compliance with regulatory & legal requirements. - On-time approvals and SAP code creations (FG / Item / BOM). - Smooth execution of machine trials and packaging validations. - High-quality vendor coordination ensuring readiness before launch. - Accurate, approved, and CQA-validated packaging BOMs. - Seamless implementation of change controls. 4. Required Skills & Competencies Technical Competencies - Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging materials & technologies. - Understanding of packaging machinery and manufacturing processes. - Artwork development, color standards, and print proof evaluation. - SAP proficiency (FG / Item codes, BOM, PR support). - Knowledge of pharma regulatory requirements & legal compliance. - Vendor development and technical evaluation. 5. Qualification & Experience - Education: Post Graduation in Packaging Technology - Experience: 25 years in pharmaceutical packaging development (Domestic Market preferred
