**Company:** Qualcomm India Private Limited **Job Area:** Engineering Services Group, Engineering Services Group > Program Management **General Summary:** **Role Overview** The IE IoT Software Program Manager is responsible for driving endtoend execution of Qualcomms Linux platform initiatives with a strong emphasis on upstream alignment, open-source excellence, distribution enablement, lifecycle management, and the productization of industrialgrade IoT solutions. This role demands exceptional crossfunctional leadership, deep expertise in embedded Linux development ecosystems, and the ability to orchestrate execution across kernel, Yocto, Debian/Ubuntu, userspace frameworks, CI pipelines, and industrial solution teams. A customerfirst approach, costefficient decision making, and proven experience transforming prototypes into robust, productionready industrial solutions are essential. **Key Responsibilities** - Define and lead mainline alignment, upstreaming strategies, and branch lifecycle management across mainline, LTS, and stable trees. - Oversee opensource compliance, release coordination, and adherence to Qualcomms Linuxfirst execution strategy. - Ensure predictable upstream refresh cadences across kernel, Yocto, and Debian/Ubuntu ecosystems **Distro Enablement & Ecosystem Integration** - Drive endtoend enablement across Yocto, Debian, and Ubuntu distributions, including graphics, multimedia, AI/ML, connectivity, robotics, and industrial frameworks. - Champion developerfirst workflows, upstreamfriendly integration practices, and clear, highquality opensource documentation. **Productization & Industrial IoT Solution Readiness** - Convert platform capabilities and prototypes into stable, repeatable, productiongrade industrial IoT solutions. - Integrate key industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, EtherCAT, Profinet, MQTT, CoAP, etc.) into platform roadmaps and solution blueprints. - Drive costoptimized decision making across feature sets, cloud usage, and hardware/software selections. **Customer Engagement & Solutions Engineering** - Maintain strong customer focustranslate customer needs into actionable, prioritized engineering workflows. - Lead solution prototyping, PoCs, and integration efforts by coordinating across functional teams. - Deliver developergrade documentation, solution guides, and productionready reference implementations. **CrossFunctional Program Leadership** - Manage large crossfunctional execution spanning kernel, multimedia, Android, connectivity, user space, and partner teams that includes the HW platform teams. - Own schedules, milestone alignment, dependency mapping, risk management, and executive communications. - Ensure Linuxfirst, developerfirst discipline across the entire engineering pipeline. **Quality, Testing & Automation Excellence** - Drive strong premerge validation, CI/CD health, and continuous testing coverage across mainline and LTS branches. - Track quality regressions across features, drive closure with partner teams, and uphold productionreadiness KPIs. **Qualifications & Experience** **Required** - 1015+ years of leadership experience within embedded Linux/Kernel/Yocto/OpenSource ecosystems. - Deep understanding of: - Upstream Linux development workflows (maintainers, linuxnext, LTS/stable branches). - Kernel branching models, mainline alignment, Yocto/OE pipelines, and Debian/Ubuntu packaging and workflows. - Opensource contribution processes (patch submission, review cycles, Gerrit/Git workflows). - Demonstrated success managing complex, multidisciplinary engineering programs. - Exceptional communication skills and strong stakeholder management with a riskdriven decision mindset. **Preferred** - Experience with industrial IoT systems, industrial protocols, or Linuxbased industrial platforms. - Background in prototyping, customerfacing engineering, or productizing industrial IoT software stacks. - Strong documentation and developer ecosystem orientation. **Minimum Qualifications:** Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 5+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
