Job Description Senior Project Engineer Position **Senior Project Engineer** Department Projects / Construction Location As per business requirement Reporting To Project Manager / Senior Manager – Projects Role Summary The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring on-site construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and as per approved quality standards. The role requires effective coordination with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company policies. Key Responsibilities Project Execution - Execute construction activities as per the approved project schedule and construction drawings. - Monitor day-to-day site progress and ensure timely completion of project milestones. - Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, and contractors to resolve execution-related issues. - Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budget objectives. - Review construction methodologies and recommend improvements for productivity and efficiency. Site Management - Supervise civil and finishing works at the project site. - Monitor contractor performance, workforce deployment, and resource utilization. - Verify work measurements, contractor bills, and work completion certifications. - Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications. Quality Assurance - Ensure execution complies with approved quality standards and company SOPs. - Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections and quality audits. - Identify and rectify construction defects through preventive and corrective actions. - Maintain quality documentation and inspection records. Safety & Compliance - Ensure strict adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) guidelines. - Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks with contractors. - Ensure statutory compliance and implementation of safety practices across the site. - Report and investigate incidents, if any, and implement corrective actions. Planning & Coordination - Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports. - Track project schedules and identify potential delays. - Coordinate procurement requirements with the purchase and stores teams. - Liaise with consultants and local authorities for project-related approvals. Cost Control - Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage. - Assist in cost estimation and budget monitoring. - Review contractor claims and certify work completed. - Support value engineering initiatives for cost optimization. Documentation - Maintain daily progress reports, site records, material reconciliation, and project documentation. - Ensure all project records are updated and maintained for audits and handover. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech). - PMP or relevant project management certifications will be an added advantage. Experience - 8+ years of experience in residential, commercial, or township construction projects. - Experience with reputed real estate developers is preferred. Technical Skills - Strong knowledge of RCC, finishing, and high-rise residential construction. - Understanding of project planning and scheduling. - Familiarity with construction quality standards and safety regulations. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office. - Knowledge of BOQ, billing, contracts, and material management.
