# **Job Description** **Purpose of the role** To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. **Accountabilities** - Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. - Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. - Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. - Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. - Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. - Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability. **Assistant Vice President Expectations** - To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. As a Senior Software Engineer-DevOps you will support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. **To be a successful Senior Software Engineer-DevOps you should have experience with:** - Strong hands-on experience in implementing and managing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation across enterprise applications. - Proven expertise in CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, and automated deployment frameworks. - Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent technologies. - Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and container orchestration platforms. - Strong understanding of cloud technologies and deployment models across AWS, Azure, or Barclays Cloud Platform (BCP). - Experience in building and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure environments. - Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration, scripting, and automation using Shell, Python, or similar languages. - Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or similar platforms. - Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, security controls, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements. - Experience with application deployment strategies, environment management, release governance, and production support processes. - Proven ability to lead platform modernization initiatives and drive engineering excellence across teams. - Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. - Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with globally distributed teams. **Additional relevant skills given belo
