Our Domain Search team (internally known as the Find team) is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in building and improving one of GoDaddy’s most strategically critical platforms. Domain Search is a key revenue and growth pillar for GoDaddy, serving customers across 42 markets worldwide and powering the search experience behind our domain discovery, add-on products and advertising surfaces. Our engineering team is fully remote, collaborative and deeply invested in operational excellence, system ownership and continuous improvement. As a SDE on this team, you will not be handed tickets to complete. You will be expected to identify problems, define solutions, own delivery end to end, and raise the technical bar for the systems you work on. What you'll get to do... • Architect and deliver highly-scalable, highly-available, cloud-ready services that power domain search experiences for ~100M+ queries/day across 42 global markets • Take primary ownership of one or more core services within the Find platform, driving end-to-end delivery from requirement gathering and design through to implementation, documentation and stakeholder communication • Lead incident response and on-call rotations for Find systems, independently resolving operational issues, reducing partner concerns and improving system reliability over time • Proactively identify improvement opportunities, author design docs, define Jira breakdowns and independently drive moderate to large problem statements from idea to production • Adopt and champion modern development practices including AI-assisted development tools, DevOps and CI/CD automation to continuously improve personal and team delivery velocity without compromising quality • Share technical work and innovations with the broader engineering organisation through brown bag sessions, demos or written showcases, contributing to a culture of visibility and knowledge sharing Your experience should include... • A degree in computer science, information systems or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated industry experience • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of building and scaling large-scale distributed systems • Proficiency in one or more of Go Lang, Python or Java, with a strong preference for GoLang • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, software design, microservices architecture and cloud computing • Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation • Demonstrated ability to independently own a service or functional area end to end, including design docs, ADRs, runbooks and stakeholder collaboration • Passion for building elegant, pragmatic solutions to real-world problems at scale • A genuine desire to learn, grow and invest in your own craft over time You might also have... • Experience with or curiosity about search technologies and search infrastructure • Hands-on experience with AWS • Familiarity with big data and machine learning technologies • Experience working in fully remote, globally distributed engineering teams We encourage you to apply even if your experience or skillset doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement.
