The ideal candidate should be passionate about building scalable backend applications, developing efficient APIs, and creating robust, high-performance systems. You will work closely with our Devops, QA, and operations teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions that support our business objectives Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI Build secure, high-performance microservices architectures with proper validation, authentication, and error handling Integrate backend services with GCP components such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, GCS, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer Develop and manage data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines Implement event-driven architectures using Pub/Sub for asynchronous and real-time processing Design and orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow (Cloud Composer) Work with structured and semi-structured data using Pandas, ensuring data quality and validation Create and optimize SQL queries, schemas, and data models in BigQuery and Cloud SQL Deploy and manage applications using Cloud Run, Docker, and container platforms Implement CI/CD pipelines and follow DevOps best practices for automated deployments Configure IAM roles, service accounts, secrets, and secure access controls Monitor applications and pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability Write and maintain unit and integration tests using Pytest Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, DevOps, and product teams Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure high-quality deliverables **Required qualifications to be successful in this role** 4–6 years of backend development experience Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs and microservices Solid experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP): BigQuery Cloud SQL Google Cloud Storage (GCS) Pub/Sub Experience in data processing and transformation using Pandas Strong knowledge of SQL and database design Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration (Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer) Experience implementing authentication, authorization, and API security Familiarity with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing Experience with Docker and container-based deployments Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows Experience writing unit and integration tests (Pytest) Good-to-Have Skills Experience with Cloud Run and serverless architectures Exposure to hybrid or on-premises integrations Experience working with Oracle Database Knowledge of data quality frameworks and validation techniques Familiarity with file formats such as Parquet and Avro Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes-based platforms Understanding of IAM, service accounts, and security best practices on GCP Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (Stackdriver / Cloud Monitoring) Experience in building data platforms or analytics systems Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization in BigQuery **Together, as owners, let’s turn meaningful insights into action.** Life at CGI is rooted in ownership, teamwork, respect and belonging.
