Job Title: SAP ABAP Technical Engineer Position: Senior Software Engineer Experience: 6 to 9 Years Category: IT Infrastructure Main location: Bangalore Njoyn ID- J0726-1917 Employment Type: Full Time Job Description: Job Summary: The SAP ABAP Technical Engineer is responsible for operational support in S/4 HANA deployments and developing, supporting and optimizing SAP technical solutions in a post go-live application maintenance environment. Collaborates within a global team and works closely with business stakeholders, partners and cross-functional teams to ensure stable, scalable and efficient SAP applications. The role focuses on technical development, issue resolution, system stability and continuous improvement. In addition to supporting SAP S/4HANA deployments, the role will also provide technical support for SAP ECC applications where required. Key Areas of Responsibility * Support technical solution delivery aligned to the global template and deploy the global S/4 HANA implementation on a local level while providing technical support for SAP ECC applications where required. * Develop, enhance and maintain SAP technical objects including Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows, ABAP Objects, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits and Enhancement Frameworks. * Provide end-to-end technical support in an AMS environment including incident management, service requests, defect resolution, debugging, performance tuning and root cause analysis in line with agreed service levels. * Conduct technical impact analysis, unit testing and support functional testing to ensure quality delivery of developments and enhancements. * Support S/4HANA transformation activities including custom code remediation, CDS Views, AMDP, OData services and Fiori developments where applicable. * Collaborate with Functional Consultants, Basis, Integration teams and AMS partners to deliver stable and integrated technical solutions. * Monitor system performance, technical issues and application stability to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. * Maintain technical documentation, development standards and knowledge sharing to support governance and operational continuity. Experiences and Skills * Hands-on experience in writing, optimizing, and debugging custom code, database procedures, and interface protocols, including the development of complex CDS Views, AMDP methods, OData Services, and classic ABAP dictionary objects. * Strong technical knowledge of ABAP, ABAP Objects, Enhancements, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, SmartForms/Adobe Forms, Interfaces and Performance Optimization. * Good understanding of SAP S/4HANA development concepts including CDS Views, AMDP, OData Services and Fiori developments. * Experience working in a global application maintenance support or production support environment including stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration. * Experience in technical enhancements, incident resolution, problem management, testing and delivery of supportable technical solutions. * Good understanding of integration with SAP functional domains such as Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Planning. * Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving and communication skills. * SAP certification in ABAP or SAP S/4HANA Development is an advantage. * Ability to work effectively in a global, complex and highly integrated business environment. Grading Differentiators * Good knowledge of SAP ABAP development standards, SAP S/4HANA technical architecture and incident management practices. * Operates independently within assigned technical scope and delivers with limited supervision. * Able to resolve moderately complex technical issues across integrated SAP processes. * Contributes effectively to support, enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives.
