Senior Specialist - Cost Accountant

Job description

The role of the Cost Accountant will perform a variety of accounting tasks including but not limited to preparing journal entries, analyzing and reconciling various balance sheet accounts, preparing spreadsheets and participating in the month end close. **Responsibilities:** - Performs a variety of Accounting tasks including but not limited to preparing journal entries, reconciling and analyzing various balance sheet accounts, preparing spreadsheets based on financial data, and participating in the month-end close - Will work with various departments including Production, A/P, and Inventory Control - Responsible for using REVEAL and JDE Systems - Specific duties will include but not be limited to cost input, WIP variance review, and balancing of daily reports Will assist senior accountants on special projects where needed - Will be exposed to paper inventory accounting and may be responsible for assisting in the processing of paper usage’s as required - Will assist in providing inventory SOX documentation and audit information as requested **Qualifications:** - Performs a variety of accounting tasks including but not limited to preparing journal entries, reconciling various balance sheet accounts, processing and reconciling interfacing sub-systems to the general ledger, and preparing workpapers and internal schedules based on financial results - Examines a variety of accounting documents to verify accuracy and to ascertain that transactions are properly supported, are in accordance with policies and procedures, and are recorded according to generally accepted accounting principles. - This person will be responsible for internal and external reporting more complex than the entry level position. - Involvement with SOX 404 testing and compliance. - Duties will also include involvement with specialized projects on an as needed basis in conjunction with management and/or senior staff.
